Sermon Jam -Jesus is loving Barabbas by Judah Smith

“Sermon jams” are new to me. If you go on Youtube to the “Newsong Church Hawaii Channel” you will see Scripture Jams, Sermon Jams and Poetry Slams.

If you have never heard of this before your not alone. If it is old news to you your probably smirking right now thinking how behind in the times i am.

This is such a creative way to hear the gospel, even through a sermon! When i listen to sermons many times my mind wonders so i will doodle, take notes or illustrate what is being said. THAT is what these sermon jams do.

Here is an example and above all it conveys the message of the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. This one points out that “Jesus knew the Father would have to treat Jesus like Barabbas so that He could treat Barabbas like Jesus”

Jesus is enough.

I hope this inspired you and I hope that it will inspire others to convey the gospel in a fresh, new and exciting way that people can grasp, showing God’s love to even the hardest heart, causing us to love those who seem unlovable.

In this day and age i am realizing that we need to learn to speak the language of those alive. Today’s  generation  needs to hear the same gospel God has given since the beginning and it is up to us to share it in a way in which they will want to hear, in a language they are familiar with.

Let us not forget that our actions speak louder than our words & the two must match; but, let us also use our words, both spoken & written, wisely.

That is one reason I am a Social Media Soldier, to reach people through on-line means.

Being laid up for a while with sciatic back pain has limited my ability to get up and out to the streets, facilities and places outside the church but this keyboard and the world wide web is proving to be a great mode of transportation to reach others with the gospel of Jesus Christ so they will come to know that He is enough and all they need.

Back in 1865 the founder of The Salvation Army said, “why should the devil have all the good music?” In more recent times we are saying, “why should the devil have all the good technology?” He doesn’t. The world wide web need not be a web of the devil it can be a tool of the savior. Let’s use it for His sake and in His name, which is above every name, JESUS. Jesus is enough.
