Opposition & Opportunity (“Grow a Courageous Soul” PART 6 -Holy Ambition)

Chip Ingram writes,
“Ever notice that when you take a step of faith and you’re committed to being the person God wants you to be, that life suddenly gets really tough?

Why is that”?

Chip explains why it gets worse before it gets better and he’ll give you some practical ways to make it through the bumpy ride that you may be enduring right now.

Our greatest personal commitments and spiritual victories are almost always

The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. Many seek the face of a ruler, but it is from the Lord that a man gets justice. An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, but one whose way is straight is an abomination to the wicked.

Jehovah Witness teaches Jesus is Michael the Arch Angel, God’s first great creation
and the brother of Satan.
The Truth Shall Make You Free p.49

Rather than get into why they believe this and what Scripture they use to back this I decided to look at the book of Hebrews as a whole. Obviously God’s Word gives us more than enough truth to cut through any debates.

Going to the best source,  God’s Word may we see Jesus,  The Christ, Messiah,  Savior,  Master, Lord as our High Priest, not just another Angel, not the brother of satan.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 ESV

Many blog post I write are short & to the point.

(It covers the whole book of Hebrews with emphasis on WHO JESUS IS in comparison to who some say He is…
As written to the Hebrews we read:

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
Hebrews 1:1 ESV

Going on…

but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”? Or again, “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”? And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.” Of the angels he says, “He makes his angels winds, and his ministers a flame of fire.” But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.” And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands; they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end.” And to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”? Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
Hebrews 1:2‭-‬14 ESV

Now into Hebrews 2

Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.

For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?

It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

For it was not to angels that God subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking. It has been testified somewhere,

“What is man, that you are mindful of him, or the son of man, that you care for him? You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under His feet.”

Now in putting everything in subjection to Him, he left nothing outside His control.

At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him. But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.

For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source.

That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying, “I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.” And again, “I will put my trust in him.”
And again,
“Behold, I and the children God has given me.”

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.

For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham.

Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

For because He Himself has suffered when tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.
Hebrews 2:1‭-‬18 ESV

Hebrews 3
For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.)
Hebrews 3:3‭-‬4 ESV

Our high priest:

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:14‭-‬16 ESV

Hebrews 5
For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people. And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was. So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”; as he says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.” Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.
Hebrews 5:1‭-‬6‭, ‬8‭-‬10 ESV

Going on…
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Hebrews 6:19‭-‬20 NASB

Going on…
Who is this Melchizedek…

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham as he was returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham apportioned a tenth part of all the spoils, was first of all, by the translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace. Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually.  For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also. For the one concerning whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become such not on the basis of a law of physical requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life. For it is attested of Him,  “Y ou are a priest forever  A ccording to the order of M elchizedek .”  For, on the one hand, there is a setting aside of a former commandment because of its weakness and uselessness (for the Law made nothing perfect), and on the other hand there is a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. And inasmuch as it was not without an oath (for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him, “T he Lord has sworn  A nd  will not change H is mind , ‘Y ou are a priest  forever ‘”);  so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.  The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.  For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever.
Hebrews 7:1‭-‬3‭, ‬12‭-‬28 NASB

Chapter 8
Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister in the sanctuary and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices; so it is necessary that this high priest also have something to offer. Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest at all, since there are those who offer the gifts according to the Law; who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to erect the tabernacle; for, “S ee ,” He says, ” that you make all things according to the pattern which was shown you on the  mountain .” But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.
Hebrews 8:1‭-‬6 NASB

And so on with Hebrew 9, explain who Christ was, is and forever will be…

Now when these things have been so prepared, the priests are continually entering the outer tabernacle performing the divine worship, but into the second, only the high priest enters once a year, not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance. The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, which is a symbol for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience, since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, regulations for the body imposed until a time of reformation.  But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?  For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. For where a covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it. For a covenant is valid only when men are dead, for it is never in force while the one who made it lives. Therefore even the first covenant was not inaugurated without blood. For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the Law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, “T his is the blood of the covenant  which G od commanded you .” And in the same way he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry with the blood. And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.  Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the holy place year by year with blood that is not his own. Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.
Hebrews 9:6‭-‬28 NASB

Hebrews chapter 10:
For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins? But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, “S acrifice and offering Y ou have not desired , B ut  a body Y ou have prepared for M e ; I n whole burnt offerings and  sacrifices  for sin Y ou have taken no pleasure . “T hen I said , ‘B ehold , I have come  (I n  the scroll of the book it is written of M e ) T o do Y our will , O G od .'”  After saying above, “S acrifices and offerings and  whole burnt offerings and  sacrifices  for sin Y ou have not desired , nor have Y ou taken pleasure  in them ” (which are offered according to the Law), then He said, “B ehold , I have come to do Y our will .” He takes away the first in order to establish the second. By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of G od , waiting from that time onward until H is  enemies be made a footstool for H is feet . For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying, “T his is the covenant that I will make with them  A fter those days , says the Lord : I will put M y laws upon their heart , A nd on their mind I will write them ,”  He then says,  “A nd their sins and their lawless deeds  I will remember no more .”  Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.  Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.  For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the  fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries . Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “V engeance is M ine , I will repay .” And again, “T he Lord will judge H is people .” It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.  But remember the former days, when, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings, partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated. For you showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and a lasting one. Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. F or yet in a very little while , H e who is coming will come , and will not delay . B ut M y righteous one shall live by faith ; A nd if he shrinks back , M y soul has no pleasure in him .  But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.
Hebrews 10:1‭-‬39 NASB

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Hebrews 12:1‭-‬3 NASB

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited. We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat. For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp. Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate. So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come. Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.  But I urge you, brethren, bear with this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
Hebrews 13:8‭-‬14‭, ‬20‭-‬22 NASB

That is a lot of Scripture but the greatest thing is it is all found within the 1 book of Hebrews,  not a piece here & there to try and back some man’s philosophy that Jesus Christ is any thing other than the ONE AND ONLY SON OF GOD.

Stinkin’ Thinkn’

Here is some good advice on how to battle “stinking thinking” -those thoughts that seem to haunt, discourage & cloud our judgment on ourselves:
write a reoccurring negative  thought you have on a 3×5 card, FOR EXAMPLE:

I need other people’s approval in order to be happy

Then write ❎STOP❎ flip card over and write truth backed by God’s word -write,

I want people’s approval but I do not need it. With God’s approval I am no longer compelled to earn Love & acceptance.  I am free to be me, who I truly am in Christ.

Another example:

Lie- my value as a person depends on what others think of me. ❎STOP❎ flip the card over…

FLIP CARD OVER AND on other side of card write the truth, pure thought backed by God’s word. Write,

My value as a person has already been determined by God because of my relationship to Christ. I will not give the power to any human being to determine my value.

Just as we turn a card over, so also, we can turn our thoughts over to God, letting HIM develop His truth in us and correct our Mis-belief s into PURE THOUGHTS He gives for us to live accurately in Him.

Again, keep these verses in your mind & heart (internalize them)
Phil. 4:8 & Col. 3:2 & Eph. 4:21-24

the ascent to the armory as far as the angle. 20 Next to him, Baruch son of Zabbai zealously
repaired another section, from the angle to the entrance of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
21 Next to him, Meremoth son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, repaired another section, from the
entrance of Eliashib’s house to the end of it.
22 The repairs next to him were made by the priests (from the surrounding region). 23 Beyond

Looking at observations made in Nehemiah 3 will now help us make an interpretation of this passage.

Part 2 Audio reviews some observations then helps interpretation & Application.

Look at:
1. The Principle of Cooperation: “We will never get beyond how we’re getting along.” How?

Audio will help you fill in the blanks but so will interpretation on Nehemiah 3

☆Recognize people are _________________________.
☆Recognize the immense value of ________________________person.
☆Recognize that our common
___________________ is greater than our individual differences.
☆Personal commitments are fostered when we feel like we belong!

2. The Principle of Coordination: “The multiple efforts of a group are far greater than the sum of its parts.”

☆Recognize we _______________ each other.
☆Recognize there is a ____________ only you can do.
☆Personal commitments grow when we know we are needed!

3. The Principle of Motivation: “The value of the project to the worker will determine
the value of the worker to the project.
☆ Motivation must begin with the ______________________ .
☆ Motivation is sustained by ______________________ _____________ _______________.
1. The completed wall would mean _________________from their enemies.
2. The completed wall would mean ___________________for a better life.
3. The completed wall would mean ___________________and impact in their world.

☆Personal commitments are sustained when “the” vision becomes “our” vision!

Introduction: Why Dreams Die…
Why is it that so many people intend to do so much, yet usually accomplish so little?

…If you have not started audio click 👉Play Audio 👈 now…

The Answer: good intentions !
Why is it that others who carefully prepare to do even a little, accomplish so much?

Prerequisite #4: A strategic plan

The Question:
What must happen to our
🎯Dislocated Hearts,
🎯Broken Spirits, and
🎯Radical Faiths to
turn our God-given dreams into reality?
(🎯Those are covered in detail in parts 1-3🎯)

1). It must begin with a ___________________:

Chapter 1 – Chapter 2
Problem – Solution
Susa – Jerusalem
Prayer – Answer
The Promise – The Provision
A Purpose – A Program
An Individual – A Group
Perceptual – Practical
The Heart – The Head

2). Where God’s agenda is championed, God’s resources

Focus on what & why not how, that is God’s job.

Nehemiah 2:5-9
5 … and I answered the king, “If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my fathers are buried so that I can rebuild it.”
6 Then the king, with the queen sitting beside him,
asked me, “How long will your journey take, and when will you get back?” It pleased the king to send me; so I set a time. (Set plan)
7 I also said to him, “If it pleases the king, may I have letters to the governors of Trans-Euphrates, so that they will provide me safe-conduct until I arrive in Judah?
8 And may I have a letter to
Asaph, keeper of the king’s forest, so he will give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel by the temple and for the city wall and for the residence I will occupy?” And because the gracious hand of my God was upon me, the
king granted my requests.
(Protection & provisions)
9 So I went to the governors of Trans-Euphrates and gave them the king’s letters. The king had also sent army officers and cavalry
with me.
Nehemiah 2:5-9 (NIV)

3). Your strategic plan must be “birthed” in ____________________:

Nehemiah 2:11-16
11I went to Jerusalem, and after staying there three days
12 I set out during the night
with a few men. I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for
Jerusalem. There were no mounts with me except the one I was riding on.
13 By night I went out through the Valley Gate toward the Jackal Well and the Dung Gate,
examining the walls of Jerusalem, which had been broken down, and its gates,
which had been destroyed by fire. 14Then I moved on toward the Fountain Gate and
the King’s Pool, but there was not enough room for my mount to get through;
15 so I went up the valley by night, examining the wall. Finally, I turned back and
reentered through the Valley Gate. 16 The officials did not know where I had gone
or what I was doing, because as yet I had said nothing to the Jews or the priests or
nobles or officials or any others who would be doing the work.
Nehemiah 2:11-16 (NIV)

🔸 3 keys to “birthing” your strategic plan:
1. Silence: To LISTEN (3 days)
2. Secrecy: To ASSESS  (Evaluate)
3. Solitude: To STRATEGIES   (Plan)

Keep in mind personal mission statement,  short & long term goals… lay out plan.

4.) Your strategic plan must be launched in PUBLIC:

Nehemiah 2:17-18
17 Then I said to them, “You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is
desolate and its gates burned by fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem
that we may no longer be a reproach.”
18 And I told them how the hand of my
God had been favorable to me, and also about the king’s words which he had
spoken to me. Then they said, “Let us arise and build.” So they put their
hands to the good [work].
Nehemiah 2:17-18 (NAS)

🔸7 steps to launching a strategic plan:
1. Clearly define the problem .
2. Identify with the problem.
3. Propose a “we” solution.
4. Give a clear, strong challenge .
5. Motivate at the deepest level.
6. Help others see God’s hand in your vision.
7. Explain specifically how everyone can involved in the project.

1). What is the difference between “good intentions” and a specific “plan of action?”
Why is this so important?

2). Do you have a strategic plan for -Your spiritual growth?
-Marriage? Children?
-Reaching your neighbors and friends?
-Ministry in your church?

3). What would God have you specifically do to move from “good intentions” to a
strategic plan in one of the above areas? Who will help you develop this?

Fact or Fiction, Omniscient or Opinions

Even state approved school text books hold fiction mixed in with facts.

We daily hear opinions shared with such strength, boldness, athority & conviction  that we may feel so inclined to listen & believe it over God’s all knowing truth (Omniscient ability).

The great news is,

we can search & double check God’s Word as a source of the one & only truth.

Christ tells us He is the way, the truth & the life. Not “a” way but “the” way.

One road, One Spirit,  One truth (fact).

We read several times the reiteration of being careful of false teachers, especially in 1 John 4…but again that is only 1 of many places we are forewarned.

So, always measure the behavior & persuasive speaking of others against The True Source,

IN Christ, Christ in me,

1.)contact me & other believers with questions you have in regard to helping you interpret Scripture.

2.) And more importantly, dig into God’s Word on your own to find the truth & explanation on what HE is searching for, what HE (The Word) requires & how He is able to abide in you to accomplish His will & over come yours.

This will bring you peace, truth & life.

You may be surprised to note differences between what God is really saying & what you thought or others told you.

Reading & studying His Word closely can give us an accurate picture of who God is, What He is really like & how He wants & can be in a personal relationship with you & others.

DRAW N ‘ Resist,

🔸Be sober-minded;
🔸be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
🔸Resist him,
🔸firm in your faith,
🔸knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.
1 Peter 5:8‭-‬9 ESV

Draw near to God

🔸Submit yourselves therefore to God.
🔸Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
🔸Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
🔸Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and
🔸purify your hearts, you double-minded.
🔸Be wretched and

Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and
HE will exalt you.

Health Update (Physical, Mental & Spiritual)

Body & Body Building
1 co 12
Ro. 12

Believers are all part of Christ’s body no matter who we are, where we are, where we go & what shape we are in physically or mentally.

CHRIST decides what position we hold & to what capacity HE will use us.

We must all do our part & that is going to be different & individualistic depending on you & what God wants.
As i go through physical therapy 2x’s a week for 6-8 weeks and do the exercises they give me to do at home daily in order to build up my strength to stand, walk, sit, even drive again i can’t help but think of how important it is to exercise Spiritually & use coping skills for my mental health as well.

We ALL have those 3 sides:

To be healthy & keep our balance we need to feed, exercise & consider all 3 of those aspects.

The Scripture above also relates to our interactions with others (commonly thought of as what denomination & where we meet to attend a “service”)

Once we’ve surrendered our soul to Christ & let His Spirit & His will be done rather than our will be done we continue to develop & at times struggle with our physical body & deal with our mental health.

This also joins us with other believers but no matter how strong & healthy we may be Spiritually we are still human.

No matter where we are Spiritually & how “not of this world” we are we still carry around this earth suit made up of flesh, blood, bone & chemicals.
When you have a broken arm it doesn’t break The Holy Spirit’s presence in you.

When our sugar levels or estrogen or testosterone or adrenaline (chemical make up) goes up & down it is separate from how we are Spiritually.

We walk by faith not by sight or feelings (2 Co. 5:7).

Follow Christ, not our own will or the will of others (Acts 4:19).

When the chemicals in our mind or body are unbalanced it doesn’t knock our Spiritual relationship with God the Father off the course He sets for us.

Those things (Physical & Mental Health issues & conditions) have an effect on all of us and will go up & down, however, in Christ & Christ in us we can continue to climb, progress & grow.

Just as we exercise & take in good things to increase our physically & mentall health, so also we must take in good things Spiritually to make progress every day.

i have personally realized i can not just sit back and not read God’s Word, not communicate with Him & just go to a certain address on a Sunday Morning and or midweek
(Church) ‘service’ and thrive Spiritually.

i seek the Lord 1 on 1 in a relationship and fellowship with other believers (within in or without the 4 walls of a building) & serve Him daily.

This is how i grow & make progress Spiritually.

The Physical Therapist may help but the real work is at home, consistently & deliberately.

A Psychologist may prescribe medication & offer skills on how to cope with anxiety, mania or depression but i must take & apply them.

There are plenty of tools & healthy things available for all our needs but it is up to us to actually do those things that are healthy & avoid those things that are not healthy (Physically, Mentally & Spiritually .

In Christ,
