“Cling Tenaciously”

“Cling Tenaciously” means to

have ready access, Take & Accept.

Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers.

We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality

He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it allall but the sin

So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give

Take the mercy, accept the help.
Hebrews 4:14‭-‬16 MSG

I believe God’s Word is enough. We can take Him at His Word & trust Him without question or wavering. We don’t have to wonder if what He says is true. We don’t have to wander around searching for the answers to our needs.

I believe He is the answer. He is The Way, The truth & The life. He is The Living Word.

What an honor, what a relief, what a blessing that He is always here for us.

Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith and cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in Him as Savior].

For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin.

Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need

[an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].

HEBREWS 4:14‭-‬16 AMP

Classic Newsboys Song “Spirit Thing”:

Unsearchable, Past Finding Out, Yet I Will Seek

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Romans 11:33 KJV

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

Romans 11:33 NLT

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and decisions and how unfathomable and untraceable are His ways!

Have you ever come on anything quite like this extravagant generosity of God, this deep, deep wisdom? It’s way over our heads. We’ll never figure it out. Is there anyone around who can explain God? Anyone smart enough to tell him what to do? Anyone who has done him such a huge favor that God has to ask his advice? Everything comes from him; Everything happens through him; Everything ends up in him. Always glory! Always praise! Yes. Yes. Yes.

Romans 11:33‭-‬36 MSG

Now look at Isaiah 55 “Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy grain and eat. Come, buy wine and milk Without money and without cost [simply accept it as a gift from God]. “Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, And your earnings for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight in abundance. “Incline your ear [to listen] and come to Me; Hear, so that your soul may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, According to the faithful mercies [promised and] shown to David. Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call on Him [for salvation] while He is near. Let the wicked leave (behind) his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord , And He will have compassion (mercy) on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord . “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts higher than your thoughts. “For as the rain and snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth, Making it bear and sprout, And providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void (useless, without result), Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

ISAIAH 55:1‭-‬3‭, ‬6‭-‬11 AMP

Bless the name of The Lord  (all that represents Him). He gives & takes away I will trust, fully believe in & bless His name rather than curse it. May we never use His name in vein & althought we can’t fully understand or comprehend may we continue to seek first His Kingdom (Matt. 6:33)

Where our tresure is there our heart will be also.

Deeper Meaning to Shipwreck Charlie Story/background

For those interested here is the Deeper Meaning to “Shipwreck Charlie F.R.O.G.” Story/background

God provides lots of flies, although we may not always realize God provides plenty of flies.

We don’t see where they come from and what it takes to procuce them.  We Just see an egg or a seed and when it dies it meets our need.

Yes God provides even through a small fly and if we ask he helps us see.

He will identify, glorify, He will magnify that in Him we have what we need & we are truly freed to realize . . .

Even a fly has a purpose. A mustard seed can grow tremendous.

Got to remember…

God provides lots of flies, although we may not always realize God provides plenty of flies.

In my life I’ve found the need to keep fully relying on God. His resources do not run out because He is the source.

The story about Shipwreck Charlie has a much deeper meaning for believers.

If you haven’t read the story you can go to it by clicking here👉 🐸SHIPWRECK CHARLIE F.R.O.G. STORY🐸👈

I personally know what it is like to be mentally, emotional, spiritually, financially shipwrecked. I know loss. I’ve lost almost everything in my life a few times. Sometimes it was because of my own poor choices. Other times it was just a matter of it raining on the just and unjust (Matthew 5:43‭-‬45 NLT). Bad things sometimes happen to good people & even when you’re doing everything right. The difference is how we deal with it as a believer, one who puts their trust in God.

Some of the biggest storms in my life that not only rocked my boat but sank it were divorce, loss of job, loss of the use of my legs, loss of my son, the disease to my brain. (bi-polor disorder), and many storms in between all this.

Life deals out some pretty harsh things. We live in a mucked up world. Sometimes we have to make a run for it. Unlike society & popularity to “run with the devil” we need to run from him. Like Charlie ran from the bird trying to feast on him.

Don’t be lion food

The devil is a wounded snake looking for children to bite.
God tells us, “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.” James 4:7‭-‬10 NLT

No doubt we need our very natures changed & transformed. We need to be renewed & for me that only takes place when I humble myself, turn away from my own desires & put God first, regardless of my situation.

Charlie found protection among the thick thorns in the bush. Being in the thick of things is not easy & it is hard to kick against the pricks but in life we must learn & every opposition provides an opportunity.

Remember where there is any shadow, even a shadow of doubt, there is a light.

Sometimes we find this out on our own. Other times we need a “Lee The Lizard” to help us understand. We are not alone on this island. Yes, there are dangers & obsticals & adversaries but there are also obvious advocates that point us in the right direction.

One thing we can always depend on, regardless of others, is God’s word directly. If we are truly focused on Him and He is the desire of our hearts we’ll truly find satisfaction.

Jesus says,

“Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” Matthew 6:21 NLT

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NLT

I am learning more & more that one of the hard truths in life is that

somethings we need may come from, or as a result of, the “poo” we deal with in life.

What we see as “waste” is actually fertilizer & for Charlie & Lee flies were attracted to it. For us it takes fertilizer for us to grow crops & food we eat. The waste & even death of every living thing God uses to keep the balance for more things to grow & produce more.

We may be looking for an escape or way out of & off this island of life but in reality everything we need is right here. Right where we are & God provides after life as well for those who will trust Him to take them there.

Gods Word tells us, “Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.” 1 Timothy 6:6‭-‬8 NLT

The Apostle Paul tells of his dependence on God, Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11‭-‬13 NLT

Later check out “Living in Dependenceville“.

Much like Charlie we can strip off the outside & realize God gives us all we need. We can be who & what God wants us to be as we die to our own desires & selfishness. We no long have to be what others want or expect. The more we mature spiritually the more our focus is on pleasing God & when we learn to love as He loves, adopt and adapt His attributes the more pleasing we are to Him & others see His kindness in us.

We can swim free in His ocean of love & share true friendship with others.

I recall the first time someone showed me a little frog collectors item (trinket) they had on their desk & told me that li’l frog stood as a reminder for them to F.R.O.G., Fully Rely On God. I”ve held onto that through the years & now i draw & paint him on rocks & put them in various places for others to find this same reminder.

 Plenty of flies God provides

There will be plenty of poo in life but let us not forget that there will always be plenty of flies too.

Go ahead, try to count the flies, the blessing, in your life & remember to give God the glory.

God bless you & you, bless God.

Go with God & forever Fully Rely On God, beetle

Jesus says,

“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.”

He goes on saying,

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing,  yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.  And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’  These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.  Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Matthew 6:24‭-‬34 NLT

Often when i draw a lizard or frog on a rock i also draw a landscape of a beach & sunset or sunrise on the otherside. A few times i’ve drawn the lizard or frog on the other side ironically stretching its tongue out toward one of the birds of the sky.

It is my hope that you will find out who you are and what God has call you to be and then you will be all He wants you to be. May we not try to be anything else but who & what God wants us to be.

One of my favorite portions to feast on from God’s word is:

It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:13‭-‬18 NIV

I took a group shot of all the “Shipwreck Character” and donated them to CAMP BOGGY CREEK.

So, now I present the story

Charlie was not just your average frog and he wasn’t always shipwrecked.

Charlie had the opportunity to travel on one of the most luxurious cruise ships in the world.

Things were great for a while but one day the ship ran agound & sunk. Charlie woke up on an island.

At first Charlie was sad but then he thought, “This ain’t so bad. I’m on my own private island.” But Charlie wasn’t alone…

Charlie had to make a run for it!

He felt safe once he was in a bush with thick thorns that kept the giant bird from getting to him.

Charlie backed into the thick bush deeper & deeper until something bumped him from behind.

That is when he met another island dweller.
“Hi I’m Lee!” Charlie spun around & was face to face with an island lizard.

Lee didn’t look much different from Charlie but he was taller, his mouth seemed bigger and

Charlie was frightened. He cried out, “Are you going to try to eat me?!” Lee the lizard laughed as he replied, “No! Ho! Ho! Lizards don’t eat frogs! You’re too big! But I will show you what we can eat.”

Lee led Charlie to a big pile of poo. Charlie was disguised. “You eat poo?” “No! I eat flies and the more I eat the more there are! I don’t know how but eat all you want & yet we’ll never run out.

Charlie was amazed by how many flies there were.

A few weeks went by when Charlie found a boat that had washed ashore.

Charlie jumped in and thought,

“This is my way off this island & back to the bigger boat!”

His excitement ended when he noticed that the boat had a hole in it.

Glub glub
Oh no!

Charlie cried, “I’ll never get off this island!!!” Lee showed up and cried back, “Charlie, you are a F.R.O.G.!” Charlie looked back at Lee with confusion. Lee asked, “You do know what that means don’t you Charlie, F.R.O.G.?” Charlie’s face told Lee he didn’t know.

Lee explained,

“F.R.O.G. = Fully Rely On God!

Charlie, you got everything you need right here. Besides, you know frogs can swim right?”

The next day Lee found Charlie stripped down to his swimsuit, sitting near the water’s edge under the shade of a palm tree.

“What are you doing Charlie?”, Lee asked. “I’m praying.” “Why don’t you have any clothes on?”, Lee asked. Charlie answered, “I don’t need any, I am a F.R.O.G., besides, I’m going swimming.”

Lee was concerned, “Are you going to swim off the island?” Charlie said, “Yep!”

“You’re leaving?!”, Lee cried.

Charlie smiled & answered, “No. I’ll swim back. I got all I need right here.”

Lee questioned, “Everything?”

Charlie answered, “Yep, even a friend!”

Lee smiled & to this day they are living out the rest of their lives together on that island with plenty of flies that God provides.

A Genesis Week (fresh wind in my sails)

A prayer from a Psalmist: Soak me in your laundry and I’ll come out clean, scrub me and I’ll have a snow-white life.

Tune me in to foot-tapping songs, set these once-broken bones to dancing

Don’t look too close for blemishes, give me a clean bill of health.

God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.

Don’t throw me out with the trash, or fail to breathe holiness in me

Bring me back from gray exile, put a fresh wind in my sails!

Give me a job teaching rebels your ways so the lost can find their way home.

Commute my death sentence, God, my salvation God, and I’ll sing anthems to your life-giving ways.

Unbutton my lips, dear God; I’ll let loose with your praise.
Psalm 51:7‭-‬15 MSG

In Jesus name and for Christ’s sake, amen

Look at Isaiah 40:27‭-‬31 MSG

Consider The Source

If you reason with an arrogant cynic, you’ll get slapped in the face; confront bad behavior and get a kick in the shins.

So don’t waste your time on a scoffer; all you’ll get for your pains is abuse.

But if you correct those who care about life, that’s different—they’ll love you for it!

Save your breath for the wise—they’ll be wiser for it; tell good people what you know—they’ll profit from it.

Skilled living gets its start in the Fear-of- God , insight into life from knowing a Holy God. It’s through me, Lady Wisdom, that your life deepens, and the years of your life ripen. Live wisely and wisdom will permeate your life; mock life and life will mock you.
Proverbs 9:7‭-‬12 MSG

Message in a modem

I put my message in a modem & throw it into the cyber sea. -Neil Peart

Especially since my legs have stopped working I’ve found the internet to be a powerful mode of transportation. We can reach people around the would & they can reach us.

This has caused me to highly consider what messages I send out & what messages I take in.

Something to consider today when we tap into the world wide web.

There are so many lables out there. So many diagnosis giving a name to what ever conditions we suffer from.

That’s ok. Knowing one’s condition is half the battle; however remember that because you are a certain way it also allows you to do what others don’t, won’t or can’t do.

You are you & i am who i am. The way we are may present difficulties & opposition but they also allow us opportunities.

May we consider who & how we are. May we find purpose.

1 Co. 12 (we are all part of The Body of Christ).

The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don’t, the parts we see and the parts we don’t. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance.

1 Corinthians 12:25‭-‬26 MSG

Play your part in Christ.
