If Only Vs. The Only (love)

Moving my mind from saying, “If only there was a way to…” more toward getting to know “The Only Way.”

All we really need is love. I hope you’ll find the time to listen to this recording & that it will encourage you & give you peace:

The Way Of Love

1 Corinthians 13:2.   The theme for this meditation from 1 Corinthians 13 is the way of love.  Being aware of the chance of earthly goals and mindful of the heavenly way.  A higher way if only we would strive for the way of God’s love.

When I was an infant at my mother’s breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.

Father Forgive them, Fogive me

“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.”
Luke 6:35 NLT
I was forced to wake by muscle spasms in my back. After they finally left me alone I went to God’s word for comfort.
The night before my youngest daughter (Abbey age 11) was examining a picture I drew of praying hands. She asked if they were the hands of Jesus. We searched for scars. Within the outline of the hands were tiny designs, figures, landscapes & objects including everything from hot air balloons to micro figures of. Deserts, cities & people. She asked about the scares which we found portrayed as a human heart amidst the roots of a tree leading up toward the fingertips. This threw my mind onto a road that journeyed back to Christ’s crucifixion.

So, earlier than the sunrise of this new day I looked back at what God’s Word tells me about that event.

What stood out was the view of:

  • The crowd
  • The rules
  • The soldiers
  • Pilate

And then I considered my view, as I was not there but read the documentation, commentary & account as recorded by Dr. Luke.

In short Christ was taunted, torchered, mocked & murdered and His response during all this  was to forgive & not only talk but make a promise to a repentant criminal the access to an immediate paradise.

The veil has been torn & we too have access to the most Holy Place where God dwells.

I’m stepping in letting God fill me with His Holy Spirit, the same Spirit that made Christ so forgiving & able to overcome haters, rise from the dead, conquer death & enter paradise.

After reading & studying Luke 23:26-46 with the Zondervan NIV commentary I discovered the verse of the day (featured at the top also).
“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for He is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.
Luke 6:35 NLT
May The Spirit of The King of all kings fill me & grant me the ability to love, be kind & forgive the unthankful & wicked.

Every Li’l Thing

Christmas Eve 2015 I was forced to the Emergency Room by muscle spasms in both of my legs.

As I layed on the hospital bed my legs bounced uncontrollably. I prayed for mercy and asked my wife to help me sing the Bob Marley song “Three Little Birds”.  Although I thought I was doomed and was wrapped in physical pain I knew things were going to be alright.

We all have times of pain. It’s in those times our faith & true foundation is tested.

To this day I am challenged with physical pain & mental anguish but through The Holy Spirit I’m able to carry on Spiritually.

God gives & takes away blessed be His name. He knows what He is doing. We can trust Him.

God’s Idea God’s Work

Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.

Saving is all his idea, and all his work.

All we do is trust him enough to let him do it.

It’s God’s gift from start to finish!

We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing!

No, we neither make nor save ourselves.

God does both the making and saving.

He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

Ephesians 2:7‭-‬10 MSG

Formula/Program ?

I believe that there is no particular formula or program when it comes to experiencing God’s salvation, presence, worship & Holiness.

There may be somethings that are simular when it comes to a “service”, however, the ritualistic nature of any set program are not the key to a relationship with God.

Oh, how we try! Oh, how many gatherings of different denominations, sects and organized religions there are but they are not the key to salvation and getting close to God, let alone walking with Him daily.

I looked to God’s Word this morning once again and I hear what He has to say:

Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given.

As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands. But faith’s way of getting right with God says, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ (to bring Christ down to earth). And don’t say, ‘Who will go down to the place of the dead?’ (to bring Christ back to life again).”

 In fact, it says,

The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.”

And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

As the Scriptures tell us,

“Anyone who trusts in HIM will never be disgraced.”

Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.

For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “ Lord , who has believed our message?” So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ

But I ask, have the people of Israel actually heard the message? Yes, they have: “The message has gone throughout the earth, and the words to all the world.” But I ask, did the people of Israel really understand? Yes, they did, for even in the time of Moses, God said, “I will rouse your jealousy through people who are not even a nation. I will provoke your anger through the foolish Gentiles.” And later Isaiah spoke boldly for God, saying, “I was found by people who were not looking for me. I showed myself to those who were not asking for me.” But regarding Israel, God said,

“All day long I opened my arms to them, but they were disobedient and rebellious.”
Romans 10:1‭-‬21 NLT

May you find freedom from religion, religious laws (both written & unwritten) and come to Him in order to walk with Him, in Him & Him in you -filling every fiber of your being.

Song: “Freedom” by “Outside Worship”:

Our Doing Vs. God’s Doing

The earlier revelation was intended simply to get us ready for the Messiah, who then puts everything right for those who trust him to do it. Moses wrote that anyone who insists on using the law code to live right before God soon discovers it’s not so easy—every detail of life regulated by fine print! But trusting God to shape the right living in us is a different story—no precarious climb up to heaven to recruit the Messiah, no dangerous descent into hell to rescue the Messiah. So what exactly was Moses saying? The word that saves is right here, as near as the tongue in your mouth, as close as the heart in your chest. It’s the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching. Say the welcoming word to God—“Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!”
Romans 10:10 MSG
