Love, Jesus Style (God Action -Day 4 of 4)

Intro: There was a T.V. show called, “Love American Style”

Here is a clip of the intro. to that show:

In all fairness I was pretty young when that show was new. My older sisters would watch it and it came on kinda later at night (late night t.v.) because it showed more mature content and delt with adult themes.

I wouldn’t call it or consider it risky or off color or overtly sexual in nature just…well, in all fairness, trying to show what some people think love is and the crazy mixed up signals that get crossed when people try to force a misconception of love.

This is a series I’ve been sharing with the main focus coming from this verse in 1 John 3:18. There is no great need to read ever day in order to grasp what I share today.

Today I want to look at this verse and the surrounding verses, as well as others with this in mind:

Jesus set the example with His actions not just His words

In the t.v.  show I mentioned in the intro. they showed a demonstration of “love” going wrong.

Time after time, episode after episode (just like many t.v. shows we see today) you’d see people looking for love and to be “loved” but when the love is shallow & just physical in nature it always hurt and caused pain & confusion.

In many ways shows like that can show us how not to live & love. In life we can learn from people’s mistakes but we also need to see people’s accomplishments & success, as positive role models for us.

For us, this is where Christ comes in & reading His Word is important in order for us to see the best role model

I personally believe the Bible is not just the documentation of Jesus’ words and what He did but it is living & breathing & can get into us, actually live in us & effect our life-style (Jesus is the Word. A study on “Logos” living breathing Word that is alive  -John 1).

This is where you & I come into the picture. “Christian” are to be Christ-like showing real Christ-like love in a world who wants & needs to see that type of love.

Jesus showed it so others could take it in, not just hear it or later read it but actually SEE it.

Living love Jesus style

So, let’s get into The Word, but more importantly let it get into us.

Remeber the 1 key verse we are looking at in this series: “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.1 John 3:18 NLT

Now look at the surrounding verses -1 John 3:1‭, ‬5‭‭, ‬7‭-‬8‭, ‬13‭, ‬16‭-‬20‭, ‬23 NLT (below)
“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him

And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him

Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning.

But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.

We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us.

So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?

Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. (The key verse for this series)

Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything

And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us.”

1 John 3:1‭, ‬5‭-‬5‭, ‬7‭-‬8‭, ‬13‭, ‬16‭-‬20‭, ‬23 NLT

His name (meaning everything He stood & stands for to this day. What He did and how He went about doing it). If we claim to be “Christians” (children of God -regardless of our age) we must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us.

To “believe” means to live it out. Not just say we believe but actually let that belief effect our lives (our lifestyle).

There are certain things we do and don’t do because we are convinced & have a deep conviction to do or not do so. We act & react not because we are told by others what is right & wrong but because God’s Spirit nudges us from deep within our guts.

When Christianity becomes our life-style rather than our religion we are able to love like Christ loved.

This ends day 4.

I know some want to go deeper, so do I. I always do. Here is a bit more to chew on if you desire to, but the above is the main point for today and in and of itself is enough…Jesus showed us…

Love Jesus style.

Main point –Jesus set the example with His actions not just His words

So much more can be written and I could go on for 4 more days and days with this verse from 1 John 3:18 alone but I’ll end this series with one last link that I hope will help us think about who we really are, what we say (with more than written & spoken words), where we are, when we are being heard, why people hear with more than words and how we are…”speaking life”: (One of the videos in this link are also featured in one of the days in this series).

Extra scripture that goes along with these thoughts:

Jesus said these same things we read in  1 John 3 –

In Luke we hear Jesus saying, “But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you.  Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.  If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also.  Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.  Do to others as you would like them to do to you. “If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them!  And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much!  And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you get credit? Even sinners will lend to other sinners for a full return. “Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for HE is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.  You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate. Luke 6:27‭-‬36 NLT

In Matthew we hear Christ say, But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48 NLT

Jesus goes on teaching,

“Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.  When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.  But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.  Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.  Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.  Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:1‭-‬4‭, ‬19‭-‬21 NLT

Then a little later Jesus said,

“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.  On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’  But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ Matthew 7:21‭-‬23 NLT

The Lord Jesus Christ explains that He, although the embodiment of The Most High God in the flesh He is one with the least of these (the lower class of people in the greatest need) and the way we treat others is the way we will be treated and inturn the way we treat Him. (Matt. 25:31-46 seperation of goat & sheep).

Again, “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.  Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:11‭-‬12‭, ‬48 NLT

And note: “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.  But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14‭-‬15 NLT

Fully understand the fact from Jesus’ lips: “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.  For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. Matthew 7:1‭-‬2 NLT

If we don’t live by His example (the way He did) we will not be treated by God The Father the way He treated His Son (Jesus).

Unless our righteousness is better than the Pharisees we won’t get into to The Kingdom. Here is a very important message & warning to mature believers – Jesus Christ says,

So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. “But I warn you—unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

Matthew 5:19‭-‬20 NLT

To fully understand that we have to know & understand how Jesus was living & teaching (with words and His actions) and compare that to what the Pharisees & religious people of that day were preaching verbally & doing (or not doing) physically in regard to the lifestyle of love Jesus calls us to.

I recall my children asking why eveyone can’t go to heaven & i explained how if God allowed & tolerated unrighteousness & evil in heaven it would be as bad as this world.

In order for there to be a place filled with perfect righteousness and no harm, no death & dieing, no tears or pain, God has to allow only purity in & keep the unpure out. Perfect purity comes from God’s great love & not tolerating hate.

Remember -Jesus showed love to everyone & even when being put to death by those who hated Him & were murdering Him He asked God The Father to forgive them.

Extra extra-

1 John 3:18 series “God Action” finished but the subject of the Christian lifestyle, specifically how we are to live love & let love rule just keeps coming up in conversation and in different Scripture passages I am reading.

Here is another: Do you want to be counted wise, to build a reputation for wisdom? Here’s what you do: Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It’s the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts. Mean-spirited ambition isn’t wisdom. Boasting that you are wise isn’t wisdom. Twisting the truth to make yourselves sound wise isn’t wisdom. It’s the furthest thing from wisdom—it’s animal cunning, devilish conniving. Whenever you’re trying to look better than others or get the better of others, things fall apart and everyone ends up at the others’ throats.

James 3:13‭-‬16 MSG

I’ll Love You Forever (Day 3 of “God Action” series)

I was listening to the song  “I’ll Love You Forever” by John Elefante on Amazon Music and this goes along really well with what I want to share next in this “God Action” series. Although this is day 3 it stands on its own so if you didn’t read day 1 & 2 this is not incomplete.

Here is the song on Youtube:

Consistant, faithful, persistent love literally goes a long way.

Perhaps you, like me, have some older person that is, or in the past now has been, an example of love in your life.

I’m talking about someone that you can look back at and recall how they not only loved you at one point in your life but always showed you love. A person who has known you for years & years and watched you grow up, mature and go through awkward, silly and down right freaky fazes and fads, yet never stopped showing you love with more than just their words, with time and an active practice and heavy dose of patience.

Think for a moment, picture them in your mind (it may be someone no longer with us here on earth -a grand parent, neighbor, elderly person you met at church).

Got it? Got them in your mind right now?

See if what I am writing describes them…do these few words ring a bell in describing their character:

  • Firm bit not overbearing
  • Loving
  •  Joyful
  • Peaceful
  •  Patient
  • Kind
  •  Good
  • Faithful
  •  Gentel
  • Self-controlled

Notice those descriptive words are all actions or describing someone’s ACTION.

The last few were actually taken from Gal. 5 (The fruit of The Spirit) …”But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 NLT

They were bearing the fruit of God’s Spirit. They were living it out in their actions, not just words. They practiced what they preached. The seed of God grew in them & equipped them to be like that.

Recall those people who, through thick and thin, good and bad, stuck with you, had your back & lifted you up when you fell, rather than stepping on you while you were down.

BECAUSE that person was faithful, consistent and persistent we knew that we were loved.

They didn’t just love us during our baby years then stop loving us during our teen years.

They didn’t stop hugging and kissing and holding our hands, even when it was embarrassing in front of our peers.

Not only this but they were one of the few who didn’t constantly bring up regrets of our past everytime we’d go back to see them (visit).

It may only be 1 or maybe 2 people that you can mark as this type of person. It is rare.

It is one thing to love a baby who doesn’t talk back & you have to show love & care for and yet another thing to show love to a teen who says,

 “I HATE YOU!!!!!”

The verses above our key verse for this series says, “Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2 ESV

God is not finished with us and He is not finished with others. He will finish what He started and He will perfect it but it is a process.

Plant a tree and water it but don’t think you can make it grow, especially over night.

Love in action takes time and it takes God’s timing not ours (Is. 55).

Don’t expect great, drastic changes right away after 1 day of listening or studying God’s word or hearing some amazing message from some Biblical preacher.

Growing and maturing Spiritually takes time & experiences (sometimes through very harsh and difficult situation & circumstances we some how live through).

In the very beginning of the song above John Elefante sings: There are times when silence is golden

There are times when words are misunderstood
There are times we can’t abort our feelings
I’ll shed light on the truth, regardless of my shame

And when all is said and done
There is only an audience of one
And all that I long to hear
Familiar and ever so clear
When you say these words to me…

I’ll love you forever

You see, God’s love isn’t a one night stand. God’s love is not a date. God’s love isn’t a one stop shopping trip where you just pick up a few things from a trip or get from going to a church altar or retreat at some camp or resort weekend.

Christ not only gave us a

of love but He gave us a

of love.

When we are in a love relationship with Him we realize that He doesn’t break up with us or divorce us, even when we are not faithul. He sticks it out with us, like the example He gives us in Hosea. 👈this may shock your sox off.

I personally have not always been faithful with showing true love, sticking with it even when I feel like the one I love isn’t demonstrating love; however, God does and in Him we can learn to also. Rather than living a life out of love with God and therefore out of love with others we can remain in love.

Now, a few more verse down in 1 John 3 we hear: No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. 1 John 3:9 ESV

And then we hear “For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.”, in 1 John 3 verse 11 ESV

Then, just above this main verse that is the focus in this series (1John 3:18) starting at verse 14 we hear: If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead. Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them. We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:14‭-‬16 NLT

Jesus brought this up. He said, “You have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’  But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.”

Jesus says,

You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’  But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also.  If you are sued in court and your shirt is taken from you, give your coat, too.  If a soldier demands that you carry his gear for a mile, carry it two miles.  Give to those who ask, and don’t turn away from those who want to borrow.”

Jesus says, “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy.  But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!  In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike.  If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much.  If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that.  But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:21‭-‬22‭, ‬38‭-‬48 NLT)

Going back to the song I used at the beginning of this post…it all comes down to realizing how faithfully God has loved us (His patients). We may see that in others, we may be that example to someone, but when it all boils down God tells us and shows us how much He loves us and it is Him and Him only that matters.

Our focus & fixation need be only on Him in a one on one relationship. Not living a certain way just in an attempt or trying to please others but to just please Him (an audience of one) and if we can do that then others will be pleased as well, or may hate us but only because they hated Him.

The full lyrics to “I’ll Love You Forever”:

There are times when silence is golden

There are times when words are misunderstood

There are times we can’t abort our feelings

I’ll shed light on the truth, regardless of my shame

And when all is said and done
There is only an audience of one
And all that I long to hear
Familiar and ever so clear
When you say these words to me…

I’ll love you forever
I’ll love you until time marries you
I’ll be there to hold you when you fall

And in a moment I will be waiting
And in a moment You will be there
I belong to what’s true and what’s loving
I belong to You without a care

And maybe when I don’t hear You
It doesn’t mean that I’m not listening
Your words will go straight to my heart
Familiar and oh so clear
When You say these words to me…

I’ll love you forever
I’ll love you until time marries you
I’ll be there to hold you when you fall

You hear when I call out loud
You hear when I call in silence
And here I stand center stage
With You alone as my audience
You’ve heard my every song
So don’t make me wait too long
Till I hear You say again, I love you

I’ll love you forever
I’ll love you until time marries you
I’ll be there to hold you when you fall

Lyric video, completely different arrangment but with the same lyrics:

In conclusion for today’s post, those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives (present tense/currently) in us. 1 John 3:24 NLT

May we keep letting God love us and in doing so be able to keep showing love to others.

Let Love. (DAY 2 OF “GOD ACTION”)

Lenny Kravitz song “Let Love Rule”:

from “GOD ACTION” series this is DAY 2 (each part can stand on it’s own)-

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
1 John 3:18 NIV

Refresh on God’s Word:

Little children (believers, dear ones), let us not love [merely in theory] with word or with tongue [giving lip service to compassion], but in action and in truth [in practice and in sincerity, because practical acts of love are more than words]. 1 JOHN 3:18 AMP

After chewing on this for a while I noted this passage is not only emphasizing love being put into action but says point blank,

“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”

And that 1 John 3:18 verse is from-

(Say this with an ominous voice)

“The Kiiiiiing Jaaaaaames Veeeeersiiiiiion.”

The King James version, that some churches use exclusively (not reading, give credit to or using any other version).

We see in this verse that the real emphasis is on our actions. Not that we shouldn’t verbalize our love but that it must be backed up with our heart and shown in how we act, react and treat others (treat everyone).

Words are cheap.

Actions speak louder than words.

Others can know love more by what we do than by what we say.

Many times our eyes are able to hear better than our ears.

We got to let love speak. Body language that stuff!

The only way to explain this any further is to show you what I mean about our body saying things, regardless of what words may be coming out of our mouths, churches, homes & occupation.

This is what inspired me to do some videos but with only a few words so you can hear what I am saying, not with written or many spoken words but through my actions and simple body language alone.

Personal example of body language (all same words but actions convey different meaning):

So, I am looking today at what God tells us real love is (1st Corinthians 13 <-click to view or crack open a Bible).

This helps us answer,

“What does real love look like?

“How is it defined by God?”

“How did Jesus Christ define it with His actions?”

“How is it defined by what we do?”

That is where we must start, by knowing what kind of love we are talking about here in 1 John 3:18.

How can we show love, live it, if we don’t even know what kind of love we are talking about?

We have to know love before we show love.

End of day 2 “Let Love” Audio Adrenaline song:

Extra – play this next song and I almost guarantee it will stick with you the rest of the day or night…

The Look of Love (DAY 1 of “GOD ACTION” -a 4 day series)

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
1 John 3:18 NIV

“One Love” performed using sign language:

God’s Word:

Little children (believers, dear ones), let us not love [merely in theory] with word or with tongue [giving lip service to compassion], but in action and in truth [in practice and in sincerity, because practical acts of love are more than words]. 1 JOHN 3:18 AMP

As I focus on this one verse and how it fits with the consistency with which Jesus Christ lived His life I

Considering today what signs I convey with my body language alone. Are my actions like Jesus?

Focusing on pleasing God not others.

Active in His Word and more importantly letting His Word be active in me.

Remembering how BIG God’s love is, His grace, mercy and love for me, so that I can love others, regardless of:

  •  Who they are.
  • What they are like.
  • Where they are.
  • When they need it (which is really all the time)
  • How they live & how they respond.

Resource: Let Me Be Human by Debbie Hudson (about being human and accepting that He accepts us and simply loves us because that is who He is).

This concludes day one of this series and, although it is a series, each day can be read on it’s own, by itself without necessarily including the other days.

K.I.S.S. & L.O.V.E. (Intro to God Action series)

No secret that I am a big fan of the band RUSH and drummer Neil Peart.

In one of the videos of just him (A Work in Progress) he talks about techniques in drumming and music. At one point he adresses how others have noted that as a band they tend to over play.

He recounts others saying how music should be short and sweet and simple. He brings up how we’ve all heard it said using the acronym k.i.s.s. (Keep It Simple Stupid) but in Rush they believe that leads to l.o.v.e. (Leave Out Virtually Everything).

A song on average is about 3 min. long. For Rush there are songs they play that last twice, three times or more than that length.

What if when people speak & try to convey their main point they did it in 3 min. or less.

Sounds good huh?

However, we may not fully understand what they are saying and I think that may be why speeches go on & on so long, because the person speaking wants to drive home the point & make sure the listener FULLY understands.

Better yet, how about we consider this… showing rather than telling what we want to say.

Actions speak louder.

Sometimes God’s Children should be seen & not heard.
The whole reason I started doing vlogs was because I realized that somethings can not be conveyed or explained in words & in speech. You have to see it to really understand.

1 John 3:18

This verse spurred me on to write a whole series and was the inspiration for starting vlogs.

The “God Action” series starts tomorrow (April 27th) right here on my blog.

Hope you’ll check it out over the next few days.

Thankful Heart

Song by Petra:

On the way to Jerusalem he (Jesus) was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”

When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed.

Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks.

Now he was a Samaritan

Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?”

And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”
Luke 17:11‭-‬19 ESV

I have a thankful heart.

Jr. Loves Pam (real love)

For a short VIDEO Message…

Watch “Falling in Love is a Lie” from “45rpm w/ Scott Herrin” on YouTube

Not too long ago I included 1st Corinthians 13 as part of a post I did. I challenged myself & the reader to plug in one’s personal name in every time they come across the word ‘love’… for example, “Love (insert name) is Kind.”

When considering how we are to be (displaying the attributes and character of Christ) this can have a great impact on us & help us clarify how much more we need Jesus to work out His love in & through us.

God’s word says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Jesus said this and continued in saying, “You are my friends if you do what I command.  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.  You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.  This is my command: Love each other. John 15:13‭-‬17 NIV

Only God has this perfect love but as we who believe submit to Him He can help us love others in this same way.

God’s definition of love is completely different from this world’s definition of love and from the lust that our flesh may get confused with love.

Taking this just one step further Jesus says,  “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor   and hate your enemy.’  But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,  that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.  If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?  And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?  Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:43‭-‬48 NIV

Again, note what Jesus says, “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because HE is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.  Be merciful, JUST AS your Father is merciful. Luke 6:35‭-‬36 NIV

If we begin to measure what love really is by looking at our Master’s example (more than words) and live as He lived His love will be seen in us and we will love the unlovable, even our enemies and the world can’t paint over that no matter how much it tries.

Am I A Living Dinosaur?

I’m still young, comparatively speaking, but man, I feel so old sometimes.

I was glad to turn 50. I embrassed it and I am sure that some, who are 60 or older, are reading this, laughing or at least smerking and thinking, “Ha Ha Ha, your still a BABY!”

Age is all relative and something unavoidable. Time passes by for all of us and if we pause, although time continues, we are able to contemplate a few things…

Carry Me (Sweet Comfort Band)

Sometimes I look back over the years of my life, victories, accomplishments, defeats & mistakes and I wonder, “How have I made it to this point?”

The simple answer for me is, “God has carried me.”

I’ve written over One thousand post here on my blog (since 2015) and have had over seven thousand views to date…now I acknowledged this once again, it is Christ who get’s any and all glory.

All those times in my life when I’ve not only felt like I am just not able to walk any more but honestly I am not able to (figuratively & literally) in so many ways (spiritually, financially, mentally, emotionally & physically) and in all those times when I am not able to carry on HE carries me.

God is not a crutch. He is a stretcher. We can’t even limp into Glory without Him.

I may be too heavy for others to carry me but to The Almighty God is more than able.
I don’t have the ability to make it on my own without Him. That is why I call on Him. Lord, “Carry Me”

The reality of life for me is that I am never alone and I am not walking on this journey called life. He is always carrying me, all the time, all the way.

“Carry Me” Lyrics
by Sweet Comfort Band
from the album Hold On Tight:

Carry me over

Carry me through
Carry me all the way
Carry me over
Carry me through
Carry me all the way

Carry my spirit off into heaven
Show me the break of day
I sit in the morning
Listen to silence
Waiting for what you’ll say
Waiting for what you’ll say

You’re the artist
I’m the painting
You brushed my life with gentle care
You’re always there
You took my blank and empty canvas
And clearly placed your image there
Oh, You’re always there

Carry me over
Carry me through
Carry me all the way
Carry me over
Carry me through
Carry me all the way

Longing to hear the sound of Your voice
Tears come into my eyes
I’m leaving my problems
Right here beside me
Lift me to paradise

Let my praise be as a letter
Written from my heart
And read by only you
Only you
Let my voice be as a cryer
In the darkness
With the promise of the truth
Of the truth

Carry me over
Carry me through
Carry me all the way
Carry me over
Carry me through
Carry me all the way

My prayer: Lord, You are more than able. Carry me all the time. Carry me all the way.

Reunited (Say it with music -Sweet Comfort Band)

Recently I’ve been able to get back in touch with friends I met 36 years ago. With friends like this it is always amazing how it seems as if we’ve lost no time together. We pick up right where we left off.

I started a relationship with Jesus in the summer of 1982. There were a few years where I strayed since then. I could blame the influence of others, my mental health and many other issues; however, when it comes right down to it, I simply lost touch with Him and was not as intimate as He wanted me to be.

I should have remained tight with Him, talking & listening, in constant communication/communion with Him in order to have a healthy, tight, prosperous relationship with him.

As I was listening to  Sweet Comfort Band early this morning. I recalled times in my life when God reminded me how far away I’ve stepped from Him…

Sweet Comfort Band, “Haven’t Seen You For A Long Time”:

I find myself realizing how lonely and helpless my life is without Him…

“I Never Should Have Left” (SCB):

As I continue in my relationship with Jesus I find sweet comfort, strength and encouragement…

“Love You With My Life” (Sweet Comfort Band):

May you find this too.
