In Isaiah 41:10 NIV God says, “Fear Not, for I am with You; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
In Isaiah 9:2 NLT God promises,
The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.
In John 12:46 NLT Jesus says,
You see, the people of Israel, 🇮🇱 Jewish people ✡, were initially the only ones who were looking to God, the creator. Although some turned away and many other people worshipped false gods (note the lowercase “g”) , that particular race of people were chosen by God. It was through those who still looked to Him, honored Him & believed in Him that God would bring Salvation to the whole world. Those who are not Jewish can now take His word personal.
God said, in Isaiah 41:8-10 MSG,
“But you, Israel, are my servant. You’re Jacob, my first choice, descendants of my good friend Abraham. I pulled you in from all over the world, called you in from every dark corner of the earth, Telling you, ‘You’re my servant, serving on my side. I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’ Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.(Isaiah 41:8-10 MSG)
Back when Jesus was walking on the earth one of his followers, Peter saw Christ walking on the water. From within a boat caught in a storm, the other followers thought it was a ghost. Peter said, “Lord, if it’s really you let me walk out on the water with you!” Jesus said, “Okay, come on.” Peter got out of the boat and started to walk but soon became afraid because of the big waves & storm. As a result Peter began to sink until he grabbed the hand of Jesus & was saved (read it for yourself Matt. 14:22-33).
Many times the point brought out in that account is the Peter began to sink when he took his eyes off Jesus Christ & feared the waves, sank & Jesus saves him; however, another good point brought out to me by Dana Key in this documentation (see audio below) is that Peter was the only one who got outta the boat.
Think about it.
We are all in the same boat, the same storm.
Others may not believe Jesus Christ is real, that His Holy Spirit is still available to us, and that He can come live in our lives. I believe we still have access to God by way of His Holy Spirit.
Others, even church goers, may only see a storm. You may also know some people who just don’t allow Jesus or His Spirit to be their Lord and you watch them just face life without stepping out, let alone reach out, to Him for Salvation.
May you not only be able to see Him but call to Him, get out from behind your desk, pulpit, sanctuary, home, safe place and walk with Him in the storm.
Note how things ended up in that documented account of Peter with Jesus walking on and above the waves while the others stayed in the boat… When Peter got back into the boat with Jesus everything calmed back down. The storm was stilled.
Storms, struggles in life, are real, but so is God & He’ll see us through.
Remember earlier in the article when I posted Isaiah 41:8-10 MSG. God tells them,
I pulled you in from all over the world, called you in from every dark corner of the earth, Telling you, ‘You’re my servant, serving on my side. I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’ Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you (Isaiah 41:8-10 MSG).
It is my hope & prayer that we will
- take this personal,
- grab a hold of God’s hand,
- sail, and
- walk with Him regardless of conditions.
