The Maze

I woke up one day and heard a voice saying,

“If you desire a better place get past the maze.”

For years I wandered in this huge maze between here and heaven. I was told that there is only one way to get to the very end, “you have to figure out the maze or die in it, forever lost.”

One day, finally, I looked up and heard a voice and saw a hand reaching down.

The voice called, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one gets to the end, where my Father is, but through me (Jn. 14:6).”

I went to grab His hand but as I extended mine HE PULLED ME UP (Jude:22-23 Ps. 18:16-17).

Once on top of the walls of the maze I looked back down and realized what I was just saved from.

I heard Him say, “Follow Me, my name is Jesus.”

I followed His steps as He walked across the top edges of this huge labyrinth. I could see Heaven from where we were but then I stopped and said,

“Wait, we can do this?”

Jesus smiled and answered, “With me all things are possible (Mt. 19:26).”

“But Lord, I thought we had to go through that maze and find our own way. I thought that it was up to us to find out if the arrows on the ground and the sign posts on the walls were right. I thought we had to follow the others who said they knew the way and maybe even run into a few dead ends walls. I was under the impression that…”

“Hush”, He interrupted, “Do you want to do it your way or mine?” (Is. 55:8-11)

With a smile I answered, “You know my heart, Lord.”

He smiled back and chuckled , “I also know your head.”

Then He went on to explain, “You were told you have to get past the maze. I’ve already been through it and conquered it, now you can follow me, above all else. Just follow me closely, every step.”

I continue, to this day, to follow Christ as He leads me, not down inside the maze, not through the maze but across the top, above the maze where He walks. He is above it all.

He is leading me past this world of confusion to the other side.

Occasionally He has me hold His strong and mighty hand to reach down for one who is struggling down in the Maze. When they are pulled up they see that it was actually Christ who pulled them up and that we now share the same journey.

Let Him lift you up, pull you out, and set your feet on higher ground. Follow Him. He knows the way. He is The way.

Love Kindness

Micah 6:8 NASB
He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?

Right from The B.I.B.L.E.

Get right, Church and let’s go home.

Zechariah 7:9 ESV
“Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another,

Jesus says,

Luke 6:35 NIV
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

1 Corinthians 13:4-5 ESV
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

So, lets get dressed up as a Church (Christ’s body).

Colossians 3:12 NIV
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience

Titus 3:4-5 ESV
But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Note, there is one common bond with all these verses.

Snake Bite Recovery

In the book of Acts we read what Luke documents:

After we were safe [on land], we found out that the island was called Malta. And the natives showed us extraordinary kindness and hospitality; for they kindled a fire and welcomed us all, since it had begun to rain and was cold.

But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper crawled out because of the heat and fastened itself on his hand. When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they began saying to one another, “Undoubtedly this man is a murderer, and though he has been saved from the sea, Justice [the avenging goddess] has not permitted him to live.”

Then Paul [simply] shook the creature off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.

(Shake it off, shake, shake it off)

But they stood watching and expecting him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But after they had waited a long time and had seen nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and began saying that he was a god. In the vicinity of that place there were estates belonging to the leading man of the island, named Publius, who welcomed and entertained us hospitably for three days. And it happened that the father of Publius was sick [in bed] with recurring attacks of fever and dysentery; and Paul went to him, and after he had prayed, he laid his hands on him and healed him. After this occurred, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases were coming to him and being healed. They also gave us many honors [gifts and courtesies expressing respect]; and when we were setting sail, they supplied us with all the things we needed.
ACTS 28:1‭-‬10 AMP
