Father Forgive them, Fogive me

“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.”
Luke 6:35 NLT
I was forced to wake by muscle spasms in my back. After they finally left me alone I went to God’s word for comfort.
The night before my youngest daughter (Abbey age 11) was examining a picture I drew of praying hands. She asked if they were the hands of Jesus. We searched for scars. Within the outline of the hands were tiny designs, figures, landscapes & objects including everything from hot air balloons to micro figures of. Deserts, cities & people. She asked about the scares which we found portrayed as a human heart amidst the roots of a tree leading up toward the fingertips. This threw my mind onto a road that journeyed back to Christ’s crucifixion.

So, earlier than the sunrise of this new day I looked back at what God’s Word tells me about that event.

What stood out was the view of:

  • The crowd
  • The rules
  • The soldiers
  • Pilate

And then I considered my view, as I was not there but read the documentation, commentary & account as recorded by Dr. Luke.

In short Christ was taunted, torchered, mocked & murdered and His response during all this  was to forgive & not only talk but make a promise to a repentant criminal the access to an immediate paradise.

The veil has been torn & we too have access to the most Holy Place where God dwells.

I’m stepping in letting God fill me with His Holy Spirit, the same Spirit that made Christ so forgiving & able to overcome haters, rise from the dead, conquer death & enter paradise.

After reading & studying Luke 23:26-46 with the Zondervan NIV commentary I discovered the verse of the day (featured at the top also).
“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for He is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.
Luke 6:35 NLT
May The Spirit of The King of all kings fill me & grant me the ability to love, be kind & forgive the unthankful & wicked.
