For part 1 go to: The Perfect Story (Kyri).
Here are some personal notes I’m making public-
Gen. 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 NIV
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 NIV
Every thing started with an empty page to be written on or a medium ready to be formed into something. It has to have a beginning.
Gen. 1:2 “The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.” Genesis 1:2 NLT
The Message Translations says, “Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God’s Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.” Genesis 1:2 MSG
Keeping Gen. 1 (the beginning of creation) in mind we are also able to look at prophecy regading the end in Rev. 21:1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. Revelation 21:1-2 NIV
This isn’t some fairy tale. It is from the same reliable source of prophecies that have already been filled.
Rev. 22:20-21 He Who gives this warning and affirms and testifies to these things says, Yes (it is true). [Surely] I am coming quickly (swiftly, speedily). Amen (so let it be)! Yes, come, Lord Jesus! The grace (blessing and favor) of the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) be with all the saints (God’s holy people, those set apart for God, to be, as it were, exclusively His). Amen (so let it be)! Revelation 22:20-21 AMPC
So, back to Rev. 21:1-2 –
“a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. Revelation 21:1-2 NIV
God’s Word gives us plenty of history but also allows us to read about the future. We hear about what will be New, reminded that the old will pass completely and we hear about a bride, a prepared bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
The Old Testament asks, “Who is this King of Glory?”
Here in the book of Revelation we may ask,
Who is this Bride?
To know the bride God introduces the groom.
John 3:27-36 –To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.’ The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. He must become greater; I must become less.” The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. John 3:27-36 NIV
Who is the groom?
John explains & points to The Messiah & clarifies that he (John) is not Him. John is the friend who attends the bridegroom (the best man). John is a servant who is more than just a servant, a friend who listens & prep.s the way for the groom. One of this friend’s jobs is to drive the groom from here to our home. John said, “The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.“
We read in this story about a preparation for a Wedding.
The groom has arrived and has been introduced into this world (our home, where we live). We are able to know who the groom is & read of His characteristics throughout even the O.T. as well as the new. We read about His friends, followers, servants & seekers but perhaps we may still asking, “Who is the bride?”
Rev. 21:9- show bride
Rev. 22:17 – bride speaks
Rev. 18:23 -groom & bride united go on in their new life married. They don’t live in their old home anymore. The two, on that day, make up a completely new family unit. They are still the children of their parents but now are grown up, now matured into adulthood.
….”For this reason you leave your mother & father”
Once married the begin a new saga, adventures & story of their own.
We can even look into the future regarding a final seperation, battle, war that is needed to release those in this wedding party so no one can trash their new lives together… Rev. 19:7-10
We learn in God’s Word of the 1st Ressurection and a 2nd death.
What we see and The End is really just beginning (Rev. 20:7 to Rev 21).
Rev. 20:7 -When the thousand years come to an end, Satan will be let out of his prison.
Revelation 20:7 NLT
Rev. 21:1-2 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
Revelation 21:1-2 NLT
Rev. 21:3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.
Revelation 21:3 NLT
Think about that “Dwelling Place”
Rev. 21:5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”
Revelation 21:5 NLT
The key is God making everything new.
Some one once asked me, “Could. the lake of fire be a way to purify even the most evil thing, the dirtiest of souls?” I think of what can become pure gold if only impurities could be boiled to the point of that dirt rising to the top & scraped off so it’s made pure & turned into a state that could even pave the roads of heaven.
Rev.21:5 we read that God will make all things new everything new.
Rev. 21:6-8 And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
Revelation 21:6-8 NLT
We read of the thirsty given satisfaction without cost and the spring inheritance to children. And in verses 8 – the coward, unbelieving viel (other descriptive characteristics) given a 2nd death.
Rev. 21:9 opens an invitation -Then one of the seven angels who held the seven bowls containing the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come with me! I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
Revelation 21:9 NLT
Reading on Rev. 21:10-27
We get a “Scripture picture” of the new heaven & another key point, Rev. 21:27, a new name !
That Name written in The Lamb’s book of life -Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Revelation 21:27 NLT
The future, in God’s care, is bright.
Rev. 22 (Eden restored)
Recall Gen. 1 & what eden was like in beginning. Not just how it looked but how it felt & the setting of being in complete fellowship with The Creator.
Now new beginning rev. 22:1-5
Rev.22: 6-7 look, blessed is the one who keeps -“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey the words of prophecy written in this book. ”
Revelation 22:7 NLT
Rev. 22:8-9 fellow servant you & your fellow prophets & all who keep worshiping God. -I, John, am the one who heard and saw all these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me. But he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this book. Worship only God!” Then he instructed me, “Do not seal up the prophetic words in this book, for the time is near.
Revelation 22:8-10 NLT
Rev. 22:10-11 don’t seal or close the book up. Time near let one who does wrong continue vile continue… let one who does what is right contine holy continue…
Rev. 21:12 (like Rush song 2112 ,rescuer comes to save the oppressed, but Christ is the true savior, not some fictional super hero)
For each person (individuals) “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.
Revelation 22:12 NLT
Rev. 21:13 God is the beginning & end.
Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life.
Revelation 22:14 NLT
V. 15 -outside
Outside the city are the dogs—the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idol worshipers, and all who love to live a lie.
Revelation 22:15 NLT
V. 16 testimony (“to you”– that word in greek is plural) to churches -all parts of the body of Christ.
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source of David and the heir to his throne. I am the bright morning star.”
Revelation 22:16 NLT
Jesus (trinity) root & off spring bright morning star
The Sun rises in the East
Ps.103 as far as east is from west Hod removes our sin.
Rev. 21:17 come come come
The Bride, the one who hears, the one who is thirsty, the one who wishes to take free gift.
Spirit & bride (as one -groom & bride united) –both say come because they will be completely one. Complete in marriage.
Hear says come
(Adressing this invite to the thirsty & who who wishes to take free gift)
Rev. 21:1 A warning to the hearer adding & taking away from true story already written
Last few words in book rev. 21: 20-21
He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people.
Revelation 22:20-21 NLT
Some may believe and knowingly participate but allwill be part of living out the perfect story that has already be written.
Perhaps one of the most well known authors of our life time put it best when he wrote
“All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts,”
…John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did. If they should be all recorded one by one [in detail], I suppose that even the world itself could not contain (have room for) the books that would be written.
John 21:25 AMPC
