Questions God Can’t Answer

As I read, “A Grief Observed” by C.S.Lewis I had to re-read several lines at a time to grasp what he was writing. Once I gained an understanding it packed a powerful punch.

In the book I had a copy of, pg. 69, he writes about questions us mortals ask that God can’t answer.

WHAT?! Can a mortal ask questions which God finds unanswerable?

Quite easy.

All non-sense questions are unanswerable.

Here are some examples,

“How many hours are there in a mile? Is yellow square or round?”

I personally thought of the song & full Lp album by Chris Rice  “Smell The Color 9

C.S.Lewis explains further…

“Probably half the questions we ask – half our great theological and metaphorical problems – are like that.”

Song with lyrics, “Smell The Color 9” by Chris Rice

What a great piece of work, Tom – and I smiled when you mentioned Chris Rice’s song. I am a CR fan and have everything he’s done and always scratched my head on that title. I can’t wait to get to Heaven – I feel like it will be a source of joy and humor to finally fully know – and see back at our unanswerable questions ❤️ You have always touched my heart, Tom – with your childlike trust and joy in the Lord. You truly are His hands and feet and when you cross that finish line I believe you will be overwhelmed by the people who greet you and say they know the Lord because of you!! ❤️
