New Year New Song New Worship (Reaching This Generation)

I checked out Day 1 of the @YouVersion Plan “Breaking The Silence” [Magenta] today. Check it out here:

You are about to step into the year 2018 and hear what draws young adults to Christ and how they express themselves before God to offer Worship to Him. It is a far cry from how prior genderations worshiped but not any less pleasing to Our Father’s Hollowed ears…

The Message is the same. The Messiah gives us meaning. The Creator is what matters not the container or creative way in which He is glorified.

The above video had a few comments under it and in one I noticed that an individual had a hard time accepting it. They mentioned the lighting. Rather than looking at its content they were critical about its container.

Back in the 1980’s I recall seeing people who claimed to be Christians acting as an authority at being holier than anyone and everyone else determining what music could be used by God and what music, regardless of the message & ability to bring others closer to Christ and give Him worship, what music was of the devil. This was determined primarily by the beat & how modern it was. They even stood in protest outside of Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) concerts.

Let us not forget

“The cross has won! Death overcome.

We are free!”

This declaration, like the cross, stands at the center of our faith.

Where sin and death once ruled, Jesus stepped in and brought life by offering himself as a sacrifice.

It is His perfect love that has overcome the grave and given us victory.

The chains of sin and death have been broken forever

Now, in every situation, struggle, and season, in Jesus name we can stand and say, “We are free!”

Jesus brings the light into every situation.

Remember “He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 NLT

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame.

Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.” Hebrews 12:1‭-‬3 NLT

“We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.

Romans 6:6 NLT

“But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? ” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

1 Corinthians 15:51‭-‬58 NLT

This devoted thought is taken from day 1 of the @YouVersion Plan “Breaking The Silence” [Magenta].

 Check it out here:

This plan leads you through The Scripture behind the lyrics to the new student worship songs released from Life.Church Worship. It is a simple three-part album Breaking The Silence created to lead young adults closed to  through music. Never underestimate how God can use music as a mode of transportation. Not every stlye or genre of music appeals or speaks to every generation. Also, each generation speaks, or uses music to speak and that language is ussually a little different from the generation before, as well as greatly different from several generations before.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Jesus Christ said, “And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.” John 12:32 NLT

“You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.” James 5:8 NLT

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25 NLT
