Begotten. What does that mean?

In its literal sense, begotten refers to a child who shares the same nature as his father.

This word powerfully shows that Jesus shares the same divine nature as the Father.

Begotten is meant to equate Jesus with the Father, not deflate Him before the Father.

Jesus was “begotten, not made.”

As you read these verses think about that…

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NLT)

Jesus said “The Father and I are one.” (John 10:30 NLT)
