We have Plans, God has Purpose

Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand. [Job 23:13; Ps. 33:10, 11; Isa. 14:26, 27; 46:10; Acts 5:39; Heb. 6:17.]
Proverbs 19:21 AMPC

Let’s look back at what Job said about God, even while going through such troubled times:

“But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? He does whatever he pleases.  He carries out his decree against me, and many such plans he still has in store.  That is why I am terrified before him; when I think of all this, I fear him.  God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me.  Yet I am not silenced by the darkness, by the thick darkness that covers my face. Job 23:13‭-‬17 NIV

Job understood & acknowledged that God had  planned all along. HE ALWAYS DOES.

The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. Psalms 33:10‭-‬11 ESV

The Lord of hosts has sworn saying, “Surely, just as I have intended so it has happened, and just as I have planned so it will stand…

For the Lord of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched-out hand, who can turn it back?” Isaiah 14:24‭, ‬26‭-‬27 NASB

The Lord has done show and tell for us through the ages. In Isaiah 46:9‭-‬11  we read,

“Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’; Calling a bird of prey from the east, The man of My purpose from a far country. Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, surely I will do it. Isaiah 46:9‭-‬11 NASB

God’s purpose far out weighs & out last any plan men make.

When the Apostles met with opposition the people persecuting them were given advice:

“So my advice is, leave these men alone. Let them go. If they are planning and doing these things merely on their own, it will soon be overthrown. But if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God!” Acts of the Apostles 5:38‭-‬39 NLT
God purpose comes with a promise & a guarantee. He doesn’t just make plans or have a plan He know exactly how things are going to work out. Each thing that takes place has purpose to accomplish His will.  He desires that everyone be saved but He gives us the choice, believe or not. Once we believe we can have full confidence in Him that He will up hold His end we just need to fall in love deeper & deeper with Him on our end of this relationship.

Our love for Him is what calls us to be a faithful follower. As humans we break promises, vows, pledges: however, when we allow His purpose to be our only plan we’ll find true meaning.

Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding. God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind.

So God has given both his promise and his oath.

These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie.

Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Hebrews 6:16‭-‬19 NLT
God has more than just a plan for us, He has purpose.

I believe Him and depend on Him.

In Christ, Beetle
