Truly Alive

Some people are actually dead while they are alive. They lack meaning and can’t seem to find out why.

The battle between this life and the next is real and we all face confusion as the prince of this world (The Father of lies) tries to tell us we’ll live it up here and now when the truth is our Heavenly Father has a much better plan for all eternity. He sent The King of Kings for us to follow and let rule.

From the start….Through the deception of the enemy, they came to desire that which was not theirs. They believed the lies, disobeyed, and rebelled against God. They turned against God and became His enemies. They broke their intimate fellowship with Him. In the process, they lost their lives, their purity, and their position. And they have passed this on to each of their children. (From day 2 of the @YouVersion Plan “Do I Still Need the Gospel?” )

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned- Romans 5:12 NASB

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 NASB

And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, Colossians 1:21 NASB

And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Ephesians 2:1‭-‬2 NASB

as it is written, “There is none righteous , not even one ; There is none who understands , There is none who seeks for God ; All have turned aside , together they have  become useless ; There is none who does good , There is not even one .” “Their throat is an open grave , With their tongues they keep deceiving ,” “The poison of asps is under their lips “; Romans 3:10‭-‬13 NASB

There is only One who can lead us to life, beyond this world. That is The Lord Jesus Christ.

Day 2 of the @YouVersion Plan “Do I Still Need the Gospel?” Is very helpful in clarifying how much we still need to go back & keep going to God’s Word  Check it out here:

Here is the “Do I Still Need the Gospel?” Link right from day 1:

Take the time to think about your life now and where your life will be after this life we know now.

For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:10 NASB

Here is the graphics from day 3:

,  a perfect life, bore the wrath we deserved, died in our place, and rose again, overcoming sin and death that we would have life eternal.

While we were stillENEMIES, God had mercy upon us. When we were DEAD in our trespasses and sins, God had mercy upon us. While we wereALIENATED andHOSTILE in mind, God had mercy upon us.

In His love, God sent His Son Jesus. He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

Jesus RECONCILED us in His body of flesh by His death. He took the wrath of God in our place. He paid the penalty we deserved. He suffered. He was crucified. He died. He was buried. He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

Jesus presents us HOLYand BLAMELESS and above reproach before God. When we put our faith in Jesus, we areFORGIVEN of all our sin. All of God’s wrath, judgment, and the condemnation and shame we deserved was poured out upon Jesus. He became sin that we might become the righteousness of God.

Have you fully considered all that Jesus accomplished for you on the cross? Do you truly put your trust in the work that He accomplished? Are you trusting in His righteousness? Or are you still working to make yourself righteous? Do you still feel the pressure or the need to earn God’s favor? Or are you trusting Jesus?

Will you make the time today in your thoughts to meditate upon what Christ accomplished for you on the cross? Will you take the truth of the gospel to heart? Ask God for His mercy and grace to not only comprehend what He did for you but also to respond in gratitude…with your lips and with your life.

Close in Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me take the time today to meditate upon what Christ accomplished on the cross. Help me believe your gospel and not man’s gospel. Please grant me the grace to be able to respond in gratitude with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind, and all my strength.
In Jesus’ name I pray.
