Isaiah 55 (In Depth Study)

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.

(A few  cross ref. Come to mind:
Matthew 11:28-30 NIV
“Come to me, all you who are weary and **burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my **yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my **yoke is easy and my **burden is light.”

Jesus with “the woman at the well”
John 4:10, 13-14 NIV
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,  but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 6:35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the *bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go *hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

John 7:37 NIV
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.

Revelation 21:6 NIV
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.

Revelation 22:17 NIV
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

Rev. 3:18 NIV  I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see).

Why spend money on what is not *bread, and your **labor on what does not satisfy?

Listen, listen to me, and *eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.

Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live.

I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David. See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples.

Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.”

Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

(A few cross ref.  Come to mind re: seeking & drawing near –
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33 NIV

James 5:1-5 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.
James 5:1-5 NIV

Hebrews 7:19 NIV
(for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

Hebrews 10:1 NIV
The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.

Hebrews 10:22 NIV
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

Psalm 73:28 NIV
But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.

Ecclesiastes 5:1 NIV
Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong.

Isaiah 58:2 NIV
For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near to me.

1 Corinthians 8:8 NIV
But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.

Hebrews 10:22 NIV
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

James 4:8 NIV
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts.

Let them turn to the Lord , and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”

declares the Lord .

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways
my thoughts than your thoughts.

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it
so that it yields seed for the
for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
will accomplish what I desire
achieve the purpose for which
I sent it.
You will go out in
be led forth
in peace;
the mountains
will burst into song before you,
all the trees of the field will
clap their hands.
Instead of the thornbush
will grow the juniper,
instead of briers
the myrtle will grow.

This will be
for the Lord ’s renown,
for an everlasting sign,
that will endure forever.

Isaiah 55:1-13 NIV

I hope that is like a deep breath of fresh clear clean air for you as it was for me.

Wise people stillSeek HIM.
Remember we seek while HE may be found…
what tomorrow may bring.

1 night…
a seriously STRONG blow of bad news,
that hit me right in my wallet,
letting another person
get the best of me
my body
screamed obsenities
as it grAaAAaaabed me
with uncontrollable muscle spasms…
i fell alseep,
drifted off as my body & mind recovered
because of
the thought & prayer accepting
‘God’s thoughts
are not my thoughts.

It even brought a smile
to my face.

The Best IS

Stay tuned…
God is NOT dead.

It Is What It Is, what WILL Be WILL be

It is what it is & what will be will be.

What was is. Can’t go back & change the past.
What was need not be repeated, unless the consistency of the past would result on a good future.

Robin Williams  (former actor & comedian) said,

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over; expecting a different result.

Although i am sure he didn’t coin that quote he did share it.

How much control do we really have over anything?

Where does God’s will start & ours end?

We know from the only written notes on life He (our creator) wants what is best & gives us guidance toward this life we have.

i love the acronym  B.I.B.L.E.
(Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) but let’s take this a step further…
i have personally had HIM (my creator) speak to my heart. The Bible is just a companion that matches what HE, the living word, has brought to life.

So I do my small part, not with words only, but with letting Him, His Spirit live on me and as i measure every choice & decision along with what He lays on my heart directly & the direction of His word i find my way in life.

Come what may i do my best, pray that it’s blessed and He’ll take care of the rest.

Remember your best is your best not someone else’s
Your best will vary from time to time depending on you skill level, education,  health,  financial statue, environment and more.

4 fairly simple things that are a challenge to apply:
Don’t take things personal
Don’t make assumptions
Do your best

i have a theme song, found in Psalm 101, it is really not “mine”, it belongs to God so
My theme song is God’s love and justice, and I’m singing it right to you, God .

I’m finding my way down the road of right living, but how long before you show up?

I’m doing the very best I can,
I’m doing it at home, where it counts.
(Rather than a world wide tour to reach hundreds of people I am being sure to preach the good news God has for us by living His word & ministering to my family, close friends, co-workers & neighbors a.k.a. the people living in the house in front , those on both sides & behind me. Each of my children’s bedrooms are like different countries. I enter into their world & be part of it, in order to share Jesus).
Now the hard part, choosing who to give time to & who to avoid – going on with Psalm 101:
I refuse to take a second look at corrupting people and degrading things.
(God works hard on building me up why put myself around people who pull me down).

I reject made-in-Canaan gods, stay clear of contamination.
(see blog post. Avoiding Toxic Air oh how we need to “breathe HIM in & avoiding toxicair”).

The crooked in heart keep their distance;

I refuse to shake hands with those who plan evil.

I put a gag on the gossip who bad-mouths his neighbor; I can’t stand arrogance.

(i have to let GOD keep my own ego in check).

But I have my eye on salt-of-the-earth people— they’re the ones I want working with me;
Men and women on the straight and narrow— these are the ones I want at my side.

But no one who traffics in lies gets a job with me;

I have no patience with liars.

I’ve rounded up all the wicked like cattle and herded them right out of the country.

I purged God ’s city of all who make a business of evil.
Psalm 101:1-8 MSG

God, you are like no other!

Hear my prayer, O Lord , Give ear to my supplications!

Answer me in Your faithfulness, in Your righteousness! And do not enter into judgment with Your servant,
For in Your sight no man living is righteous.

Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning;

For I trust in You;

Teach me the way in which I should walk;

For to You I lift up my soul.

Teach me to do Your will,

For You are my God;

Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Psalms 143:1-2, 8, 10 NASB

(No one here on earth, understands,  loves & teaches me like God.
My Heavenly Father is like no one else).

Still in prayer, 2 way conversation
Lead me on level ground Lord.

For the enemy has persecuted my soul;

He (my enemy)has crushed my life to the ground;

He (my enemy) has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead.

Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me;

My heart is appalled within me.

I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your doings; I muse on the work of Your hands.

I stretch out my hands to You;

My soul longs for You, as a parched land.

Answer me quickly, O Lord ,Deliver me, O Lord , from my enemies;

I take refuge in You. For the sake of Your name, O Lord , revive me.

In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble. And in Your lovingkindness, cut off my enemies And destroy all those who afflict my soul, For I am Your servant.
Psalms 143:9, 11-12 NASB

Lord, do not hide Your face from me, Or I will become like those who go down to the pit.

For the sake of Your name, O Lord , revive me. In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble. And in Your lovingkindness, cut off my enemies And destroy all those who afflict my soul, For I am Your servant.
Psalms 143:3-7, 11-12 NASB
I pray this Holy Scripture in Jesus name & literally for Christ sake,  Amen

The Whole Psalm 143:
– note, anything to do with the Lord is in bold. Anything to do with me, is underlined. Anything referring to the enemy is in italics.
Hear my prayer, O Lord , Give ear to my supplications! Answer me in Your faithfulness, in Your righteousness! And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For in Your sight no man living is righteous. For the enemy has persecuted my soul; He has crushed my life to the ground; He has made my dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead.
Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; My heart is appalled within me.
I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your doings; I muse on the work of Your hands.

I stretch out my hands to You;

My soul longs for You, as a parched land. Selah.

Answer me quickly, O Lord , my spirit fails; Do not hide Your face from me, Or I will become like those who go down to the pit. Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. Deliver me, O Lord , from my enemies; I take refuge in You. Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. For the sake of Your name, O Lord , revive me. In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble. And in Your lovingkindness, cut off my enemies And destroy all those who afflict my soul, For I am Your servant.

Avoiding What The Average Church Has Become.

Steer clear of the barking dogs, those religious busybodies, all bark and no bite.

All they’re interested in is appearances—knife-happy circumcisers, I call them.

(Caught up in what they wear & how they look, trying to follow a list of rules. Religious leaders insisting on circumcision, as if God won’t accept you otherwise. People confusing how we dress and what we do with God’s consern for how we cloth ourselves Spiritual and conduct ourselves in loving each other to please truly Him).

The real believers are the ones the Spirit of God leads to work away at this ministry, filling the air with Christ’s praise as we do it.

We couldn’t carry this off by our own efforts, and we know it—even though we can list what many might think are impressive credentials.

You know my pedigree (The apostle Paul): a legitimate birth, circumcised on the eighth day; an Israelite from the elite tribe of Benjamin; a strict and devout adherent to God’s law; a fiery defender of the purity of my religion, even to the point of persecuting the church; a meticulous observer of everything set down in God’s law Book.

The very credentials these people are waving around as something special, I’m tearing up and throwing out with the trash—along with everything else I used to take credit for.

And why?

Because of Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life.

Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant—dog dung.

I’ve dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be embraced by him.

(Stripped of religion & stirred in a relationship with Christ )

I didn’t want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ— God’s righteousness.

I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself.

If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it.
Philippians 3:2-11 MSG

Enough said,
If you are conserned with what to do with Church go to: Working in Church

Do we need to avoidsome people?
Should we?
I am personally identifying more & more with God’s view & seeing why He divorces Himself from people with lots of religion but no relationship with Him. Go to: Psalm 101 (that post is mostly just the Scripture, not much commentary or my personal thoughts added).

This may not apply to you. If see Jesus in the behavior of those you “go to” Church with then your Chirch is above average.
The Lord layed this on my heart from my personal past expiriance and what others have shared with me.

Distortion Brings Disturbance and Desertion (The First Chapter of Galatians)

I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
Galatians 1:6-7 NASB

Look at those 3 words in bold but in reverse order, from bottom to top:

People do not usually just desert Christ…it starts with some type of distortion, followed by a disturbance, then they desert (leave the fellowship & some times more, no longer follow Jesus.).

We read of Jesus, we hear about Him, we have way more tools & resources & information than those Paul was writing to in Galatia, however, the gospel of Jesus Christ is many times distorted by a Church going person’s actions.

This distorting may come through words but more often by actions.

When we see someone
living contrary to the way Jesus lived it distorts the whole concept of the Spirit of a Holy God actually  being alive and well,
living in that person calling themselves a “Christian” (claiming to be like Christ).

The display of Jesus,  reflection of God and characteristics of His Holy Spirit are preach by actions not just from a sermon behind a pulpit.

That contradictive behavior distorts the clear picture we find in the Bible and leads to disturbing people.

The Bible is where we find the tool & weapon to defend out faith. We see how, what, when, where  why & who we should be like.

When we are disturbed we find it no longer pleasant to be in that environment.

What once brought comfort & peace we find disturbing and even unhealthy so we naturally desert that company of people and some, if not grounded, may even desert the whole way of life (gospel living).

Just as in Paul’s day we have some distorting the gospel just as Jewish law & Pharisees added a bunch of laws, putting conditions on God’s  unconditional love, grace & mercy.

We find people trying to conform others to their ways rather then let Christ transform them to His way of life with the power & presence of His Holy Spirit  (working from the inside out).

I see people being disturbed, unsettled & then unsettling others.

Our only hope is in Christ.

God is still in control.

My thought is,

Maybe God is allowing this disruption to the body of Christ (the Church) so that individuals will make the choice to develop a personal relationship with Him & no longer base their spiritual life on man made religion.

It all starts with 😕distortion, as if trying to 👂hear encouragement & 👀recieve some type of ministry thru the air waves on a 📡radio 📻and another station starts coming in.

We hear a little distortion fuzz…zzz….zzzz…fffff….zzzssszzz.

It’s been going on a for long time,  distortion,
Jeremiah 23:36 NIV
36 But you must not mention ‘a message from the LORD’ again, because each one’s word becomes their own message. So you distort the words of the living God, the LORD Almighty, our God.

Micah 3:9 NIV
9 Hear this, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel, who despise justice and distort all that is right;

Acts 20:30 NIV
30 Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.

2 Corinthians 4:2 NIV
2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.

2 Peter 3:16 NIV
16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
 In Context Compare

Look at the rest of Paul’s writing:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one (Christ) who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all.

Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion  and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!

As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people?

If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

(Directly from the source – The Holy Spirit of The Lord Jesus Christ)

For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.

I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

But when God, who “set me apart” from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was  pleased to reveal his Son in me
so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being.

I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.

They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”
Galatians 1:3-16, 22-23 NIV

Paul realized there is 1 Christ, Savior,  Master and to just go along with human beliefs and not listen to Him directly would lead him & others in the oposite direction.

Always,  I say again, always, go back to the scriptures and letting Christ Spirit living in you.

If we find a few people not bearing the fruit, living proof, showing evidence of Him in their life we know those individuals are just not filled with His Spirit, however if the pastor & majority of the people making up the body of believers we gather with are dead & not productive, not producing the fruit of the Holy Spirit,  it is time to meet with another group of believers.

It is hard to desert the Church you grew up in but better to desert before more distortion & disturbance takes place.

Notice Paul’s conserned is with people deserting Christ not deserting a Church building filled with so call Christians who are distorting how Christ’s ways really are.

Avoiding the disturbances of false teachers and you won’t be distributed  and end up deserting Christ.

More than enough said,

May Fellowship Flow to ALL, even to foul smelling friends .

“You have heard that it was said,
‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

But I (Christ) say to you,

love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven;

for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Matthew 5:43-45 NASB

what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.
1 John 1:3-4 NASB

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.  For the body is not one member, but many.
1 Corinthians 12:13-14 NASB

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.  Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.
And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common;
and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.

Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and “sincerity of heart”, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Acts 2:42-47 NASB

All together now,

Breathing Him In & staying away from toxic air (in depth look at the air around us)

Think back in history for a moment…

Old Testament times…

After the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt…

Back when the Israelites craved the old Egyptian ways.
(Mainly because it was their old familiar ways they knew so well, their comfort zone)…

They were whining to Aaron,

“Make us gods we cansee and follow. This Moses who got us out here milesfromnowhere—who knows what’s happened to him!”

(Their faith was not personal, they were just going on what Moses was telling them).

That was the time when they made a calf-idol, brought sacrifices to it, and congratulated each other on the wonderful religious program they had put together (Acts 7:39-41).

I imagine there may have been a few who were caught in the toxic air of the majority around them.

They did not develop a personal, 1 on 1, stable relationship with the Heavenly Father.

God was not even seen as some one
(A Who, not a what.
A He, not an “it”)

We have come to know God as 3 persons in The God head…they didn’t  even conceive Him as a father.

He was just some “nature thing”, a force that made supernatural things happen….an “IT” unknown  & out there in space some where, far, far, far away.

I think that is still many people’s  concept of GOD today.

We can even go way back before the Bible was written…
Think back to Adam & Eve or Noah and his wife, those men & women we read about in Old Testament times had a 1 on 1, living, breathing  faith in God, not a majority of people but rather a minority.

Those few people carried a repore with God. They found favor in the eyes of God because they kept their eyes on Him regardless of those around them.

Noah’s Ark had a lot if animals but only 8 people (Noah, his wife, their 3 sons & their sons wives).

Those few people really breathed Him in rather than breathe in the same hate, lust, selfish desires, self-righteousness & pride (toxic air) of others.

The only way to change the environment was to completely  exterminated everything humans did out of selfish desires rather then following God’s better, supernatural plan.

We hear many people fighting for fresh air but there are just as many if not more driving vehicles  that spew toxins in the air & littering beautiful beaches with unbiodegratable cans & plastic containers.

What’s happening to our enviroment physically is not a far parrellel to what is happening spiritually.

Although in the O.T. did not see God in the flesh a very few people not only had a respect for Him they acknowledged Him & looked to Him for guidance.

Still a rare thing in our day & age… People breathing but falling short of giving Him glory for every breathe we take.

Everyone has sinned and is far away from God’s saving presence. He doesn’t move anymore than the Sun in the sky moves. We forget it is the earth that moves around the sun  not the other way around…some think & preach, God revolves around us.

In truth we need to revolve around God & His ways…we should serve Him & get out of the ‘God serve us mode & cry.’

The good news is now, in post new testement times, through the free gift of God’s grace  all are put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free.
Romans 3:23-24 GNB
For sin pays its wage — death; but God’s free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 GNB

Why not accept the gift?
1 word, Pride.
Thinking we don’t need to acknowledge,  respect or be under His Lordship keeps our true freedom out if reach.

Just like the Israelites, we want something that we can physically hold & give credit to or take credit & control of ourselves.
Now think back to New Testament times…

After God came in the flesh  (embodied by the man Jesus Christ)….

After Christ died…

After Christ conquered  the death…

After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them this time…

Jesus came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.”

Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

Thomas answered and said to Him,

“My Lord and my God!”

Jesus said to him,”Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”                        (John 20:26-29 NASB).

Thomas didn’t just believe in Jesus or His resurrection because his family & friends believe & told him it was so.

He needed to breathe the same air of Christ.

When Christ’s actual, physical  presence was there Thomas final got a breathe of fresh air.

We should not believe everything we are told (beloved, do not believe every spirit…1 Jn 4:1)
and we can not be saved by Christ just by association. i was raised in a church going ‘Christian family’ but
That doesn’t mean i was automatically in a relationship with God where i allowed Him to be in my life & help me do His will.

i had to personally surrender my will to Him,

Now for those who are believers,  think back to when Christ set you free from sin…

After you decided to let Him in…

After you committed your life to His cause…

Back when you’ve renewed your vows to Him not just as your creator but Father…

When you were at a retreat
or camp….

When you just “felt” closer to God…

I recall going to youth retreats & sensing God’s presence then going home & some how it seemed to wear off.

I slowly found myself breathing in the air around me (attitudes of others).

i final  decided to carry on in my relationship with Christ full time, 24/7.

I love to see when someone dedicates their life to Christ with the same sincerity as a priest, nun or ordained minister. Regardless of their environment the let Jesus live in & thru them. They don’t join a convent and yet are just as dedicated as a monk in the real world.

It is so beautiful when people realize Jesus isn’t just for old people or seminary students.

Every morning & thru the day, regardless of my feelings i commune with God.

Getting set free from sin isn’t a 1 shot deal. Yes, if we confess HE IS faithful & just to forgive us of our sins & cleans us of all unrighteousness  (1 Jn. 1:9) but may we understand it is an on going cleansing and process of Christ making us more like Him.

Especially when we are newo the faith we need to ‘surround’ ourselves we others who are also dedicated to sincerely living & breathing in & out The Holy Spirit.

Surrounding yourself may mean 4 Christ-like people,  not necessarily a Hugh congregation.

Being committed to Christ doesn’t mean you start going  to an all Christian school, college or work place.

…*Later I’ll mention how we may need to adjust our environment and stay away from some people, place & things that make it impossible to breath…

How can we breathe Christ in & out while still in this world filled with toxic air?

Public prayer & reading of the scriptures while gathering with other believers can be helpful.

Listening or attending ‘religious programs’ is fine, however,

Religion & attending religious programs doesn’t  get you into heaven.

A relationship with Christ & fully accepting His grace is the 1 way to heaven.

A 2 way conversation with God, worshipping Him in spirit & truth is the key.

Just like any relationship, it takes both sides to make it work.

Nothing replaces a personal, on going relationship with Him.

*i have even found it necessary to keep away from people who do nothing but drag me down (believers & non-believers can do that).

The more i believe the more i see exactly what Christ sees.
-it is not always pretty.
I am learning & striving to be more like the Jesus i read & hear about in Scripture & act less & less like the religious people that also up set Christ so much.

I long to see Jesus Christ in people at Church, however, my eyes must remain on Him not on people or what they say is an act of religious worship.

The Lord spells things out very clear in His word but you won’t alway see this done in or by churches –

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”. James 1:27 NIV

So, although He is not visable we can sense His Holy Spirit within.

We real do gain a 6th sense. Maybe it is a not do common sense, letting His Spirit speak to our consciousness.

We also have HIS word that paints a clear picture for us on who He is and what He wants & how to please Him.

Just as we breath in oxygen, although we can’t see it, we know it is there.

He never leaves or forsake us. He upholds His end of life & our relationship with Him.

We may also see Him in the way others live.

We may share Him with others,
we may also encounter great discouragement if we rely on others to have some type of ‘religious experience’ rather than wholly trust in Christ alone to accept us as we are & develop our own ‘personal relationship’ with Him.

*1 final thought, remember you may need to make some adjustments at your job, work place or even in your home in order to no longer breathe toxic air.

Until Christ separates the sheep from the goats, the wheat from the weeds, the real sheep from those wolves in sheep’s clothing we must consider for ourselves WHO we have fellowship with.

Most importantly,
Don’t  stop breathing  in the fresh air that only comes from Christ.

Still breathing,

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV
No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
1 John 4:12 NIV

So then, you will know them by their fruits. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from M e , you who practice lawlessness .’
Matthew 7:20-23 NASB

If this gave you a breath of fresh air go to: “like the Psalmist” or simply read Psalm 101 to identify with his prayer.

1 Timothy 1 – NIV – Bible Study with Tools

Here is a cool tool: ⬅this link shows cross references when you click on each verse -very  interactive.

Below I highlight, put emphasis on areas, words that urge  us to keep keeping on.

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,

2 To Timothy my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Timothy Charged to Oppose False Teachers

3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer

4 or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work—which is by faith.

5 The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

6Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk.

7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

8 We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.

9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,

10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine

11 that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

The Lord’s Grace to Paul

12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service.

13Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.

14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.

16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The Charge to Timothy Renewed

18 Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well,

19holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.

20 Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.

I have personally gone through 1st Timothy & 2nd Timothy doing this same thing, highlighting words that encourage us to keep on keeping on.

Pressing on,

“These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on.

If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock.

Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.
Matthew 7:24-25 MSG

“But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.”

When Jesus concluded his address, the crowd burst into applause. They had never heard teaching like this. It was apparent that,

HE was living everything he was saying—quite a contrast to their religion teachers!

This was the best teaching they had ever heard.
Matthew 7:26-29 MSG

On Christ, the solid rock  i stand,

I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus name.
