Suffer for a purpose

Click above for a 20 min. Audio

If I’ve learned nothing else through the physical pain/temporary paralysis it is that some time we have to accept physical suffer just as we accept mental & Spiritual pains, heart ache & droughts.

I stand firm that,  just as Paul accepted anything & everything that happen to Him & used it to Bless God, so also i will stand for God with or without the strength of my legs.

HE is my foundation.

Enough said, NOW,

I stand,

Listen to “Track 02 “Necessary Pain” – Album “{Speak}” – Artist “Dogs Of Peace”” on YouTube

This is the first time I tried to plug a vid. In to my blog using my cell phone.

This song has held meaning for me since the 1st time i heard it back in 1997 (around that time).

We all go thru things and when we are  especially faced with a major tragedy (hurricane,  loss a lived one, health issues…etc. ) we either draw nearer or farther from God.

Sometimes I’ve seen people get angry at God then turn back, repent, recant and return closer to Him than they ever were before.

CHRIST, is my foundation & it is on Him I stand, even while laying flat on my back.

I wore a more recent blog on this while waiting for spinal surgery:

What kind of dog are you?

Steer clear of the barking dogs, those religious busybodies, all bark and no bite.

All they’re interested in is appearances—knife-happy circumcisers, I call them. The real believers are the ones the Spirit of God leads to work away at this ministry, filling the air with Christ’s praise as we do it.

We couldn’t carry this off by our own efforts, and we know it—even though we can list what many might think are impressive credentials.

You know my pedigree: a legitimate birth, circumcised on the eighth day; an Israelite from the elite tribe of Benjamin; a strict and devout adherent to God’s law; a fiery defender of the purity of my religion, even to the point of persecuting the church; a meticulous observer of everything set down in God’s law Book.

The very credentials these people are waving around as something special, I’m tearing up and throwing out with the trash—along with everything else I used to take credit for. And why?

… Because of Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life.

Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant— dog dung.

I’ve dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be embraced by him.

I didn’t want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ— God’s righteousness.

I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself.

If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it.

Philippians 3:2-11 MSG

If you have the gift & call to bring others in the body of Christ, into the sheep pin (John 10, Mt. 25)

Be a dog of peace.

Puppy love,

(For those who hoped this was a fb survey to find out what type of dog breed you are most like, I truly apologize).

Friends 3 of 3

(James 4:7-8)

Several verbs (a call to action) in verse above.
Also some promises.

Submission – think about the meaning of that word. (Rather than me give you the definition & go into great detail, you probably have a better brain than I do so just stop, take a moment to think about what it means to “submit” to God).

(Taking a deep breath in & releasing it….)
Now, the verse goes on,

Resist the devil.

Here is the promise, 1st submit to God, not your Will but His Will, then resist the enemy, the opposition (the oponante)…then he (The offensive one) will FLEE, RUN AWAY.

“Draw”, come near, to God …constantly building that relationship.

He’ll draw (come) closer to you, so close that His Spirit will live in you (Jesus possesion).

Wash your hands (come clean, cough up, confess HE IS GOD we are not).

Purify our hearts? -if you’ve confessed He’ll do the rest (1st John 1:9).

How amazing it was for me when I let Christ take over my mind rather than trying to get or be in control.

In the verse above it calls the reader, “double minded”. How true that is…we all, everyday, are faced with choices to make,  please ourself,  please others,  or simple please God and go on living from there.
James 4:9-10

What?  Read the verse above again if you need to.

If you (the reader) have gone to  any church at all,  you were probably  taught from Sunday school on, smile, smile, you’ve got to smile because we are all so happy Jesus took our sins away.

I always saw the two extremes.  People smile or put in a smile no matter what.  As if Christ Himself walked around showing his pearly white teeth, smiling ear to ear ready to take a selfie or for someone to take a snap shot.

To truly, honestly, genuinely be like Christ,  we need to first know sincerly what Christ was really like. ( that knowledge comes from reading the historical recording…I recommend the book of John for a start )

This verse  (James 4:9-10) clarifies some things, we do need a sobering up time. If we are truly going to drink in The Holy Spirit, we need to make room for Him, let Him come in & clear some things out. Let go of the ‘shtuff’ we realize take a place that He deserves to be in.

It all comes back to humbly accepting this new friendship, or for some, coming back & fanning the flames or desire you once had for Christ (your 1st love -Rev. 2)

That friendship will give us a genuine smile, even when things are grim.

Able to at least grin when things are truly grim.

A smerk is always better than a snear.  I HATE SNEARS.

Just as this is 1 out of 3 post on friends, may you find that Jesus is that 1 who will NEVER let you down (Romans 8).

His friend,

Special thanks to Chip Ingram and  for inspiration  through the power of our same SAVIOR and friend, The Lord Jesus Christ.

Here is a short 20 min. Audio where Chip points out these same verbs & promises:

Friend 2 of 3

Great question.

I’m not sure many realize how much HE loves us. I know for a fact that not everyone will believe & become friends with God, let alone a lover of Him.

But oh how HE loves us and gives attention,  compassion, caring for every little detail.

How do we return thanks & recognition to Him for His goodness?

We either acknowledge Him or we don’t.

It’s that simple.

Giving Him my all,

image(this is 2 out of 3 post on friends…remember you and Jesus make a majority if HE out weights you & all your friends ).

Friend 1 of 3

You come to know who your real friends are as you continue to grow.

God knows all & allows us freewill. HE sees, knows and listens to those who build a friendship with Him on their end.

It’s a choice.

I am a friend of God,

The words of Jesus,

Just as this is 1 of 3 post on friends, may you find yourself joined with our triune God (3 in 1 =God The Father, God the Son, God The Holy Ghost/Spirit).

Unusual camp out

7 people on a camping trip. …
6 in pic. The 7th taking the pic.
Pic. Taken for memory of messages written in the air above them.

There was no denying what each of the experienced that weekend  but when the trip was over how would each of them, 7 different characters/individuals, remember, try to share, choose to deny or keep it to themselves.

See how all 7 attempted to deal with what they encountered on this ‘unusual camp out’…

Growth on your face.

I heard a story of a lady with an awful growth on her face.

She went to a dr. and had it removed.

After healing she went out into the public’s eye & felt great cause people no longer look at her strange.

She felt like everyone she saw & met treated her normal like nothing was wrong with her.

I couldn’t help but think back to talking with people who come to church at Christmas,  mother’s day,  easter, or just every once in a while…on following up with them I’ve asked,

Why don’t you come regularly?

I’ve got all kinds of answers. Some very honest. With no made up excuse I’ve heard some say,

When I come I feel like people treat me like I have some type of growth on my face.

Do we, the “church”, the body really some how make people feel like that?

In thought,
