Why we “DON’T LOSE HEART.”

Since God has so generously let us in on what he is doing, we’re not about to throw up our hands 1383109_10201148395568092_98493658_nand walk off the job just because we run into occasional hard times.

We refuse to wear masks and play games. We don’t maneuver and manipulate behind the scenes. And we don’t twist God’s Word to suit ourselves. Rather, we keep everything we do and say out in the open, the whole truth on display, so that those who want to can see and judge for themselves in the presence of God.

If our Message is obscure to anyone, it’s not because we’re holding back in any way. No, it’s because these other people are looking or going the wrong way and refuse to give it serious attention.

All they have eyes for is the fashionable god of darkness. They think he can give them what they want, and that they won’t have to bother believing a Truth they can’t see. They’re stone-blind to the dayspring brightness of the Message that shines with Christ, who gives us the best picture of God we’ll ever get.

Remember, our Message is not about ourselves; we’re proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master. All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you.

It started when God said, “Light up the darkness!” and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful.

If you only look at us, you might well miss the brightness. We carry this precious Message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives.
aka: Earth Suits
That’s to prevent anyone from confusing God’s incomparable power with us.

As it is, there’s not much chance of that. You know for yourselves that we’re not much to look at. We’ve been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do,
but we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side; we’ve been thrown down, but we haven’t broken.

What they did to Jesus, they do to ustrial and torture, mockery and murder; what Jesus did among them, he does in us – he lives!

Our lives are at constant risk for Jesus’ sake, which makes Jesus’ life all the more evident in us.

While we’re going through the worst, you’re getting in on the best!
We’re not keeping this quiet, not on your life.
Just like the psalmist who wrote,
“I believed it, so I said it,”
we say what we believe.
And what we believe is that the One who raised up the Master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive.

Every detail works to your advantage and to God’s glory: more and more grace, more and more people, more and more praise!
So we’re not giving up.
How could we!
Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace.
These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us.
There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.
~The Apostle Paul (formerly known as Saul)

  1. JOURNAL ENTRY:
This may be a hard read because it is my thoughts spilled out into a keyboard. This may get lost in translation and may not be worth the read, depending on who you are and what God is doing with you personally right now but i share here and now, no longer keeping it on a shelf….

i wrote very few rock songs. Even fewer were ever recorded and that was only reel to reel or a few on a simple cassette tape. Things laid down in the professional studios by professional, now of that stuff was ever my original stuff, always much better song writers than i ever was or will be.

UNLESS the Lord has other plans, who knows what lyrics may be inspired by stuff i wrote in some of my private personal journals? Who knows what poems i wrote at different times may inspire our be turned into a song by gifted people that come across them some how? Who knows, never say never. Never say die. God may have plans for all that but who am i to limit Him or hinder Him in any way. How can i? I can’t so who knows? God knows and i pray, submit to you God’s will be done.

This 2nd Co. 4 grabbed me while i was in High school. I wrote in some old journals these words from the NIV translation (The Message was not yet put together, probably in the making It takes years to translate from the original language and more than one person, many people).

These words, from God’s word and God’s work were put with music i wrote musical note for musical note, aka notation even if sloppy, clear enough for bass, guitar, drums and lead vocals to scream out/screech out with & throw together of musicians that made a joyful noise.

(no ref. to the band with the same name,,,i wrote no songs for Joyful Noise, that was all George Heckbarth, Chuck Whiten and Mike Anderson (am i forgetting anyone? It was just a 3 piece from what i can recall i played in while in seminary in Atlanta GA with Chuck added for lead guitar, oh how he could play and rock when allowed and unfiltered and himself, not what anyone else said he had to be to get a job done. Chuck and Mike could do great BGV too but George was great with lead vocal and rhythm gtr but could not solo at all. Like long time friend Tony Baso with Fresh Fire, Tony wrote all the rocking lyrics and music FRESH FIRE did. His lead vocals were crisp and clear and clean for Fresh Fire but forget about a solo from him. That is why we brought in Jeremy and …gary? agh, memory just won’t work.)

    I digress….

These words (from 2nd Co.) were put to vocals and backed by music. I loved the whole concept of someone screaming, not screamo, but STRONG and strained raspy vocals raving,

“We are hard pressed, but not crushed!”
” perplexed, but not in despair!”

    “persecuted, but not abandoned!”

    “struck down, but not destroyed!”

    “SoooOOo00oooo don’t lose heart!”

    Can’t you just hear it?

Some of my closest friendS (more than one) have a hard time believe in the creator, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, Jesus the living word as well as The Holy Spirit or anything that

    “has been written.”

However i personally gave God a chance, a try, a taste to see. I gave Him an inch and He has given me miles and miles and is still giving more and more road for me to travel and get to know Him better. He already knows me and accepts me.

This personal relationship is what i go on, i do personally believe in every letter, look at every “t”, every “i” i possibly can and study it and use it as a guide to help me develope a relationship with God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit.

In this journey…i go on with real life, real people, real situations. I meet people who say they believe and say they too have this relationship but i’m not always sure how tight they are with Jesus when i see how they treat Him and the least of these (the ‘little’ people that most people over look), recalling Jesus said the way we treat them is the way we treat Him.

Rather than get caught in the devil talking trash (Larry Steven Lyrics) and rather than believe the old lies the father of lies tells regularly to all of us, i am listening to The HEavenly Father rather than the father of lies.

I MUST focus on Jesus, not anyone, i mean ANYONE else, not their relationship or their religion or their belief “system” I MUST focus on Him and through this one on one relationship be able to grow and mature and accept others, regardless. Yes some things are unacceptable but HE is the judge not me. I’m done tasting and inspecting fruit and oranges on the ground i thing are o.k. and should be ok. I know now not to bother with all that and to not be bothered by all that. I refuse to any longer be bothered BY all that.
(Ref. to post Free O.J. -insert in this comment here if able or reader just note post name in blog)

At one point in history i believe with all my heart and everything that is in me understands (i get a confirmation in my heart, like a wisdom or knowledge…not sure how to explain if you don’t believe yet) i believe Jesus really said to Peter (the rock on which He was to build the church) at one point, maybe more than one time but only know written that i know of where HE, JESUS, God in the flesh said, :Get behind me satan.” HE said that to Peter, a follower and believer and devout man who questioned HIM and tried to say to the all knowing, “You won’t be killed, i will not let it happen.” I gotta read and re-read that again and again and everytime i read it, YEP! That is what happen.

    WHY?

Because even though Peter was Peter, he was human and with his momentary laps of human mind (like us) said, “What you, Jesus? Captured? Killed? NO WAY! I am the rock, i will save you and fight to the end.” (my paraphrase and loose translation of course but read it again and again yourself.

If Jesus says that then maybe being like Jesus, not Christ ourselves, not the savior and judge but with His loving and caring and conserned characteristics and double dose of The Holy Goast, maybe we too have to say to certain peopple for what ever reason hinder our relationship with God, just maybe we have to say,”get behind me satan because i just don’t feel you are doing the will of God The Father, as a matter of fact you are getting in the way, as i have done from time to time. Then shake the dust fom our feet or be taken away by guards God Himself apoints to do His his with and accept where God wants us to go. Maybe that is jail, or the ditches, of poverty ourselves. Maybe God will lead me to another country or present another culture and language to me i have to learn to work with “for Christ’s sake.” Maybe God will lead me to a cross to die as some of His followers did and maybe i too will say, i am not worthy to even die as my savior did so do it to me upside down.

    THIS IS REALITY.

So ipray, Lord, help me and my family to do and follow YOUR will not our own and no matter what happens to us may we be stong and not lose heart.

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.

“I believed; therefore I have spoken.”

we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2nd Co. 4…read all about it) In The Name Of The Lord Jesus Christ and for Christ sake, may it be so (amen).
