“Toss the brick.”
Here is the comment section:
TomBeetle Bailey, “Here is another passage, don’t let the point be missed, it is sharper than any two edged sword.https://tombeetlebailey.wordpress.com/…/i-once-was-blind/
Edward W. Finch III clarified further, “Tom, I mean I don’t understand what you are trying to get at. There’s a bunch of things we can take away from this passage. What one were you trying to share?”
TomBeetle Bailey continued with, “oh, i understand, i was just putting it out there for the whosoever to take what ever God wanted to say to them personally. I know what you mean, i think too often i put my interpretation and my own commentary so this one i just put out there and let it stand on its own. I know at different times the same passages say something different to me than it did last time i read it too. What was the most significant thing God said to you this time? btw miss you brother.”
This was all shared on FB for the world to see but i wanted to do a post about it too because it just seemed too good not to share. We learn so much and are stimulated or encouraged by others around us in so many good ways.
i’ll do another post sometime about the SCS (spinal Cord Stimulator the doctors talked about implanting in me another time) but this conversation with Ed on FB was so good.
Ed is a great man and i have seen Jesus in him, he is not one to throw stones. His comments stimulated me, they were not intended to be like someone throwing stones at me or to question me to entrap my nerves or my character (as was the case with the Pharisees mentioned in the passage provided) second look…
Ed’s comment/question was to spur me on and get others to think about this passage. Ed was and is not a thorn in my flesh (2 Co. 12:1-21). Ed is not a prick to be kicked against (Acts 9:5; Acts 26:14 ).
Ed wasn’t goading me on (Goads or prick whichever word you prefer).
He wasn’t trying to ‘get my goat or be a goat. Ed is not a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a weed among the wheat. Ed was helping and pulling it out of me. He read the verse and as he said, “There’s a bunch of things we can take away from this passage. What one were you trying to share?”
i copy and pasted this here because i thought it said a lot and was worth considering. Even him stimulating me in a positive way is worth considering, i call it “potential post” material. This, in my opinion is “blog worthy”. We use to say, “that’ll preach!” and there is a message even in our conversation.
Lately even in the middle of a conversation i include Jesus, out loud. While the person is talking and i am listening, really listening and then it is my turn to give feedback or my turn to participate in the 2 way conversation or small group conversation i include the Heavenly Father. He has been listening even more intent than either of us anyway. This works well, especially if the conversations i am in involve needing His supernatural power, why not call on Him and ask, out loud for help and more often than not the others in the small group of the 2 of you in that conversation join in agreement and many of us know what happens when 2 or more gather in His name. WOW! Praise God.
Quick side note, next time my conversation turns into more gossip than venting or healthy concerns i say, let’s include our heavenly father with this conversation, like i said, he’s been listening any way and i pray for the person or situation we are talking about. Example,
“Heavenly father, you know Harry (person’s name or concern we are bickering about) we lift them/that situation/circumstances up to you just now. ” ….then there is dead air and i pray/say out loud,
“Abba Father, daddy, you are listening, we acknowledge that. We are listening to you” ….a little more dead air because i really am listening to the Spirit that very often speaks with a whisper….
“Master, speak to our hearts. Listen to our hearts.”
Many times the other person says, “amen” with me or we continue on in the conversation and now rather than just the 2 of us we’ve invited the savior in and keep Him in the conversation.
…i don’t like dead air because unless there is some type of sound or talking i just feel uncomfortable BUT, when i am listening and opening myself up to what i truly believe His living word says i change. I am very comforted. This dead air is silence to us but it give His (Christ’s) Holy Spirit a chance to more and touch us.
I don’t fully know how He works but i know He works (Is.55)
Again, i copy and pasted this here because i thought it said a lot and was worth considering.
Who has time to read in detail all that God has for us? How has time to have a conversation with anybody anytime? Who has time to breathe?
I DO, but i notice that i have to
MAKE the time, pay attention to the little things
other little things try to choke out those moments.
Big things that seem to matter and are
OH SO IMPORTANT
THAT SHOUT FOR OUR ATTENTION AND IMMEDIATE ACTION
sometimes prevent all of us
from seeing many things
God almighty is
