FREE FLORIDA ORANGE JUICE! (Only eat the oranges on the trees)

A guy drove by this orange tree farm everyday on his way from work and he kept himself amused by watching the progression of the orange trees slowly growing to maturity, blooming flowers then producing oranges.

He was also amazed at how they picked the oranges and loaded hugh trucks to ship them all around the world. One day, after the trees were harvest he noticed so many oranges on the ground. He read out loud to himself the words he saw on these 2 big sign,

“Don’t eat the oranges on the ground!”

Another sign said,

“Only eat oranges on the trees!”

He thought to himself…Alone int the car for the next 20 min. drive to work he became more and more obsessed with the arguments going on in his own head. He began with thinking…

“What a waist! Man those workers didn’t do a very good job picking all the oranges and look at all those on the ground.

The don’t know how to run a business!  There are starving people and here this orange corporation is leaving oranges on the ground!!

What would it take, just a few minutes? Just pick up each one as they fall to the ground, just throw those in the truck. It’s modern times, if they used more people and less machines in this day and age there wouldn’t be that kind of waist!!!

Heck, that won’t be that bad of a job. How simple can you get?! Just make sure to get all of them. I wonder if you took every orange off the ground and added that up and sold them at the rate, what is it by the pound, right there is probably another $1,000!!! Oh yeah, i bet a Thousand dollars, easy ! ! !

Then they could pay their hard working farmers more. I bet that is back breaking work, but nice to be outside and not have a boss. I’d do that!!! Get out in the sun and have one simple task, how hard can it be?

I bet some guy is in a nice air conditioned office right now not realizing the money they are losing but he’s probably mad, like, “why aren’t you pickers picking more oranges , you… orange pickers!”  Hee Hee

A smile cracked on his face as he picture some big guy sitting behind a desk while on speaker phone smoking a big cigar, wearing a suit jacket that is too small for his obsessed body…

“fat guy in alil’ coat!”

sing songed through him mind and he smiled again. His thoughts continued to run in delight.

Boss man’s like…

The driver puffed his body up and said outloud in a deep arrogant ‘boss-like’ voice,

“I’m coming down harder and harder on our orange pickers here and we are getting ready to lay the lazy ones off and hire some that aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.”

He then blurted out, “YOU FIRED ! ! !” as he  realized the cars passing by probably wondered who he was talking to. “Blue tooth, Blue tooth people! ! Yep, the ol’ Blue tooth is my rational people!”

He continued on with the boss man voice, “We are pushing to meet the quote you’ve requested! Push, push push, it is all push push push!!!”

He thought to himself again, “bet they wonder why they are not making more. Not making enough money. Is it ever enough?  “Got to buy one of them their new tractors, ‘trackers’ !”  He said out loud to nobody in the car with him. He continued with his best ridiculous hillbilly accept,”I read about that on that there wicka pig ya’ll web site! Hee Hee, yee haw! wikipedia, wicked pig ya’ll!!” He thought how funny that was and wanted to tell Bill at work what he came up with.

His thoughts ran on, probably blames the workers for not doing a good job. I wonder how long it takes. i know that truck probably saves time and money, one shakes the tree the other just used for loading probably. But, nothing beats a human being making sure they get them all. Even with the machine that shakes the day lights out of the tree to get the ripe fruit to fall off ya need someone on the ground to pick some up. I’m sure of it! Hmmm, How much are the payments on a orange tree shaking truck or machine thing??? I wonder how much it cost tp pay someone to hand pick it. What does the person picking make compared to the person picking the person picking.

He paused from his ongoing amusement to smile and even let out a laugh.

“Hee Heee, that is clever, let me say it again, how much does… the person picking make compared to… the person picking the picking person? The person picking the person who is going to be doing the picking. Yeah, The Picking Person.  Say that longer phrase 3 times fast. “Hee hee, haw, Yee Haa! Yee HAUW!” He belted out loud while in traffic now.

I wouldn’t mind pickin’ those fruit, but I’d want good pay! You’d have to pay me good and give me benefits!  AND I  wouldn’t leave so many on the ground!!!

I should go there after hours and take the ones off the ground, i mean if they are just going to throw them away it would be better to take them, do the job they didn’t do well, and make some money!!! Heeeeck  I would sell the ones they left on the ground and make some serious money, I could probably quit my job or at least make some extra money. “Hmph!” He pushed out verbally followed by ” shooot!”

HE paused in thought again then reiterated the signs he read earlier,

“Don’t eat the oranges on the ground”

And the other sign said, what did it say,

“Only eat oranges on the trees?!?!?”

They probably put that sign there because they don’t want anyone else to make money off of their oranges but if they would just do THEIR job those oranges wouldn’t just sit in the dirt and rot!!!

Upon arriving at work while sitting the in break room over coffee the topic came up about the orange fields and all the waist of the oranges on the ground and the nerve of them to put a sign up.

The driver shared with his coworker this same earlier thought, “They probably put that sign there because they don’t want anyone else to make money off of their oranges; but if they would just do THEIR job  (his voice increased in volume and intensity) those oranges wouldn’t just sit in the dirt and rot.” Bill, the co-worker said,

“Oh, no that is not it at all!”

He continued, “my uncle Phil  use to work for them and he said they warn people not to eat the ones on the ground cause those are the ones the farmers rejected and the machine rejected. They have a sensor on the machine that can tell. The ones on the ground are the ones dropped on purpose by the machine or the pickers.” Bill crinkled up his nose,

“Them ones on the ground are cracked and have bugs in them!”

This made the driver and everyone in the room over hearing crinkle their noses too. Bill lowered his voice and leaned in to say, “and if there is not bugs in them yet…” He got got even softer, “there will be because once an oranges skin is broken or gets even a tiny hole in it it is at risk of letting even microscopic germs, even some little itsy bugs in there and then…” He was at an extreme whisper now “the bugs… they  lay their eggs…” Bill smiled and winked at his co-worker.

“and agh, let’s talk about the weather or sports or somthi’!”

The drive thought to himself again, no longer even hearing what subject Bill went on to; something about, “how bout them’ buc’s?” The driver wondered if that guy’s Uncle Phil found out the hard way about the fruit on the ground. Had he eaten it and got sick? Had he ignored the signs saying

“Don’t eat the oranges on the ground.”

And the other sign that read,

“Only eat oranges on the trees!!!”

Then he thought, ‘what do they know, rules are made to be broken.’ His mind pondered that,”that rule was there not to be broken. It was there to prevent others from eating what they shouldn’t. It was there to keep them from getting sick.” How many people didn’t know the reason why or didn’t read the sign or had an Uncle Phil experience or a Bill to explain this a little further?

How many people just ignore that hugh sign on the side of the highway, pass by it it every day but if it doesn’t seem to apply to them they file it in the ‘idk’ or ‘i.d. give a hoot section’ of their memory warehouse. They just ‘swipe left!’ and move one???

His thoughts wrapped up quickly as he tried to finish his coffee to clock back in from break time with, I guess if they are not interested in fruit it wouldn’t even cross their mind.

Need i explain this parable?

Special note: i am seeing lots of fruit. i’ve even tasting some of it. Others have shared their fruit with me. Some of it looks so good on the outside, no crack in the skin, no visible holes,  but very bitter to the taste!

There maybe no bugs or (don’t make me say it, bug eggs). But some reason the fruit is just so bitter to the taste, my dad told me it has something to do with the soil (Matt 13  and go to: short video ).

I’m going to just focus on my own orange grove and producing the best fruit i can produce. I may plant some seeds but i can no longer  worry about the other farmers, their trees and they how good or bad their  fruit tastes. After all, the same creator is growing the trees, each farmer has his own land and own soil. They will have to learn from HIM how to:

  • Till the soil
  • Get the rocks out
  • Weed the garden.
  • Accept (take) the pruning
  • Work with nature
  • Relying on the rainmaker
  • And enjoy the sunbeams.

If you have no clue what i am talking about, metaphorically, let’s talk.

If you could care less, we don’t need to talk and i understand if you want to avoid me.

If you know and understand what i am talking about here you already care and have better than 20/20 vision and a green thrum rather than a sore thumb (black and blue).

Keep farming.

Farming along,

“Beetle”

Thank you for stepping into the mind of a person driving to work with me. Let me ask you, “Who is driving you?” Maybe you are driving yourself with no help from anything or anyone.. How is that working out for you? If you are honestly ‘doing just fine’, keep it up.  If you need a little more help or encouragement for some reason right not go to: “Getting Past The Maze”

I hope this helps.

It helped me

  1. Matt. 13:1 At about that same time Jesus left the house and sat on the beach. 2 In no time at all a crowd gathered along the shoreline, forcing him to get into a boat. 3 Using the boat as a pulpit, he addressed his congregation, telling stories.

17 A lot of people, prophets and humble believers among them, would have given anything to see what you are seeing, to hear what you are hearing, but never had the chance. 18 “Study this story of the farmer planting seed. 19 When anyone hears news of the kingdom and doesn’t take it in, it just remains on the surface,

PERSONALLY and even vulnerable, I (beetle bailey) am hoping that there is soil of character, and so when the emotions wear off and some difficulty arrives, there is something to show for it. I am looking for fruit from full grown trees and sometimes get upset when the tree produces no fruit of that fruit being produced is so bitter.
Pray for me that this will not cause bitterness to take root in me and in turn the production of bitter fruit from me.

MT. 13:24 He told another story.

but it seems like to me (beetle) that v.26 “When the first green shoots appeared and the grain began to form, the thistles showed up, too.” https://tombeetlebailey.wordpress.com/2015/11/11/kicking-against-the-pricks/

    Thank you for your prayers.

Mt. 13:27 “The farmhands came to the farmer and said, ‘Master, that was clean seed you planted, wasn’t it? Where did these thistles come from?’ 28 “He answered, ‘Some enemy did this.’ “The farmhands asked, ‘Should we weed out the thistles?’ 29 “He said, ‘No, if you weed the thistles, you’ll pull up the wheat, too. 30 Let them grow together until harvest time. Then I’ll instruct the harvesters to pull up the thistles and tie them in bundles for the fire, then gather the wheat and put it in the barn.'” 31 Another story….

You see a a tiny seed, quite small as seeds go, but in the course of years it grows into a huge tree. Eagles build nests in it.” 33 Another story…

Mt. 13:34 All Jesus did that day was tell stories – a long storytelling afternoon. 35 His storytelling fulfilled the prophecy: I will open my mouth and tell stories; I will bring out into the open things hidden since the world’s first day. 36 Jesus dismissed the congregation and went into the house. His disciples came in and said, “Explain to us that story…

JUST ASK, and HE will then all we have to do is listen, really listen, not just hear.

  4. This story reminds me of the Fruit of the Spirit. I think it’s so interesting that the nameless driver thought about all the reasons why the farmers and the machine was wrong before he had a friend explain to him that the driver had no idea what he was talking to himself about.
    “Wicked pig ya’ll.” LOL.
